This is Ridiculous. I’m Ridiculous.

I see that it has been…[checks open tab]…well over a year since I’ve posted. WTF. I’m sorry. If there’s any sort of “audience” left from when I last published a book you’re probably confused to receive a notification. “Who’s that? What the hell is this from?”

Sure, it took me many years to write the first book but I figured that was because it was the first book and thus got rewritten at least five times as I “learned by doing.” The second book was a much quicker process—two years, I think? A...

Update: Where is the third book???

It has been a very long time. I do apologize…again.

The main thing is that I am still working on The Vale of Silence when I can. I do intend to get it out this autumn, although I’m very aware that I have said that a number of times before. I always intend to get it out as soon as possible…and then things happen (or in the case of the book, don’t happen).

I remain hopeful about this year, however, although I won’t make promises. As I’ve said in previous updates, life has a way of getting...

UPDATE: Book Availability

Okay, so some things that I’d thought would make my book series better overall are indeed doing that (reformatting and revising and error-correcting the files of the two published books). Some things, though, are proving to be a bit problematic and/or uncontrollably slow (reconfiguring things with distributors, submitting files, updating vendors).

Here is where things currently stand:

The Stone of Shadows

Updated on Kindle and is available. (If anyone experiences a problem with a file t...

Update: First Day of Spring

The world has gone quite strange, hasnt it? On the off chance that people are wondering where that third book that I keep promising isits still a work in progress. And will remain so due to my having gotten caught up in re-formatting the two previous books (both print and ebook) in order to smooth the publication and distribution process overall.

Ive completed the print and ebook files for The Stone of Shadows and am hopeful that The Darkest Midnight goes a bit more quickly now that I seem to...

Still Working on It

I’m still working on it!

The “it” there could refer to so many things. My physical and mental well being; the house my 87-year-old mother and I bought and moved most-way across the country to live in after selling our beloved home in Oregon; the neglected .7+ acre that went along with it; adjusting to life in a city we had never been to before, in a region I had never been to before; dealing with whatever stressful chaos that comes along even in the midst of dealing with everything else; and...

Aaaaarrrgghhh…Continued.

Ok, so it turns out that moving across the country in a rather truncated period of time due to reasons not of one’s liking (consistent, choking wildfire smoke in summer; increased summer temperatures; drought; unrelenting (or so it feels like) fire danger; to name a less personal few) is more stressful than I’d hoped. Or maybe it’s more stress on top of previous and/or still existent stress, and that’s why it is taking me longer to adjust, let alone get to a place—in my mind and in my daily s...

September 3, 2018

Aaaaarrrgghhh.

The third book will be published, I promise. I very much regret how long it is taking to get that done…And, disappointingly, this post is to say that it will take even longer than expected (and already it is years past when I’d initially planned).

I am about to move almost all the way across the country. I do plan to dive fully into Book Three business after I’m resettled, which hopefully will not take too long.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Progress Report: Summer Edition (UPDATED)

Life can get Complicated. (AND IT HAS DONE SO AGAIN) “Complicated” and “Write Book” don’t play well together. (BUT I KEEP AT IT) The guilt of not living up to one’s own expectations—and announced goals—is horrible and by no means helpful, especially when Complicated is being dealt with. Aside from taking many, many work hours to produce, a book that has any aspiration toward quality has some costs involved that, depending on circumstances, can be felt anywhere along the range from costly to...
