TRS gives Damek's Redemption 4 Stars

Damek's Redemptionhas received 4 stars from The Romance Studio.

"I liked the author's justification of the variation and growth of his powers because he's older and how it helps him, and ultimately, Sonia. I also like the idea that paranormals can't do it all by themselves. That was something different from most books in this genre."

~Kathy F.

Tuesday Teaser: Capturing Carly

It seemed fitting for the Tuesday Teaser this week to come from Capturing Carly, which just got a gorgeous brand new cover. Thank you Syenca for your amazing artwork!

TEASER:

He’d pulled his truck up in front of her house at eight o’clock sharp this morning. Awake since six, he watched the clock impatiently and waited until he was sure her parents had left for their day of fishing and fun with their friends. The surge of pleasure had been so great that when he’d started up the walkway he’d all but run to her front door. Carly had promised she’d be naked and waiting for him.
She’d even told him, quite graphically, what she wanted him to do to her. Oh yeah, he’d planned to taste and touch every inch of her delectable body until she was hot, sweaty and begging him to fuck her.
Rock hard and ready, he knew he couldn’t wait. He’d planned on a quickie to relieve their tension before he settled down to really enjoy himself.
The first inkling he had that his day wasn’t going to go quite as he’d planned came when Carly met him at the front door. She was fully dressed and looked very unhappy.
Stopping dead in his tracks, he’d waited for her to speak. Every muscle in his body was clenched as he braced himself for the disappointment he knew was coming.
She opened her mouth to speak, stopped, swallowed hard and tried again. “They cancelled.”
She sounded so sad and forlorn that he bound up the steps and wrapped his arms around her. “Who cancelled?” Burying her face against his chest, she mumbled something but he couldn’t understand her.
Cupping her face in his hands, he tilted her face up to his. Unable to resist, he licked her top lip. Sweet. She always tasted so damned sweet. Needing another taste, he covered her lips with his. Gently. Carefully. He skimmed her mouth with his, not deepening the connection, just enjoying the feel of her soft lips against his. The door behind her swung open. “Morning, Nathan.” Carly’s father stood in the doorway with a big smile on his face.

New Contract

I'm thrilled to announce that I just signed a new contract with Ellora's Cave for Stroke of Sapphire, which is the final book in the Awakening Desires series. This book is about the final Jewel sister--Sapphire. No date yet, but I will keep you up to date.

In the meantime, back to my WIP--what will probably be the final Tapestries book!

Christmas Quickie Contest!

CHRISTMAS QUICKIE CONTEST!

Photobucket Photobucket

We're all so busy this time of year. There are halls to be decked, food to be prepared and presents to buy. Then there are all the social obligations, Christmas pageants and the like to schedule in. There's not much time for reading. But there's always time for a Quickie.

No, not that kind of quickie. (Although that's not a bad idea either.) But a quick read. Something you can pick up and read in one sitting while you're relaxing after a hard day of work or shopping.

I want to help you out this holiday season, so I'm giving away a free PDF download of one of my Ellora’s Cave Quickies each Friday between November 30th and December 21st.

Just go to my website and click on the “Contests” page for details on how you can enter for a chance to win.

Winning names will be chosen at random and announced each Friday.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

Book of the Week--The Perfect Hope by Nora Roberts

My book of the week is The Perfect Hope by Nora Roberts. This is the final book in the Inn Boonsboro trilogy. I love this series. No one does small town romance better than Nora Roberts!

BLURB:

Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out—with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except apparently Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro…

As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be—except for in her love life. Her only interaction with the opposite sex has been sparring with the infuriating Ryder, who always seems to get under her skin. Still, no one can deny the electricity that crackles between them…a spark that ignited with a New Year’s Eve kiss.

While the Inn is running smoothly, thanks to Hope’s experience and unerring instincts, her big-city past is about to make an unwelcome—and embarrassing—appearance. Seeing Hope vulnerable stirs up Ryder’s emotions and makes him realize that while Hope may not be perfect, she just might be perfect for him…

And while you're enjoying your book this weekend, maybe you can indulge in some really good chocolate. I favor Lindt's 70% cacao. :)

5 Hearts for Finding Chrissten

The Romance Studio has given Finding Chrissten a 5 Heart review!

"Finding Chrissten is a highly-emotion charged book with a plot that's adventurous, suspense-filled and combined with my personal favourite -- romance...the Legacy series by this author is one of the most exciting paranormal series out at the moment for me as a reader."
~Bec, TRS

Thank you to the reviewer and to TRS!

Tuesday Teaser: Erin's Fancy

This week the Tuesday Teaser comes from Erin's Fancy. The idea for this book came when I was standing in line at the grocery store looking at all the women's magazines. Several of the articles featured on the cover had titles like the one in the teaser below. You know the kind of article I mean. We've all seen them. Well one thing led to another and I bought the magazine and Erin's story flowed from there.

TEASER:

Erin Connors ran her index finger over the glossy magazine cover with the scantily clad cover model and underlined the article “Seven Sex Positions That Will Drive You Both Wild!”

Taking a deep breath, she opened the cover and scanned the table of contents. She flipped through the pages, stopping at, appropriately enough, page sixty-nine, and spread the magazine wide on the scarred wood table in front of her. Bold pink letters flashed up at her from the page: Legs on shoulders, Doggy-style, Sixty-nine, Standing Backward Position, Face-to-Face, Spooning and Scissors. She could feel the heat creeping up her face as she perused the pictures of half-naked couples, with strategically placed clothing and blankets, demonstrating the techniques.
Glancing up, she peeked out the open back door and noted that the yard was empty. Her brother Jackson was busy in the barn and Nathan had already left for work. The coast was clear. Sighing, she rubbed the back of her suntanned neck. It was pathetic that a woman of twenty-five had to hide the fact that she was reading a woman’s magazine. Especially a magazine that gave advice about sex. That’s what came from still living at home at her age, and having two, very large, very protective older brothers, one of whom was a local deputy sheriff. They still treated her like some kind of nun who supposedly never even thought about sex, much less had sex.

Lest We Forget

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields. ~John McCrae
