Away From Home

You may have noticed we had a little blog issue here yesterday. The good folks who created this website and keep it up and running are working on the problem.

Until then, I am blogging at the Intrigue Authors Blog at eharlequin today. Stop by and say hello.

Also…I'll announce the winner of my monthly blog contest for March here tomorrow. Just want to make sure the blog (and comments) are all okay before I start giving stuff away.

More Twilight

We have good news for the Twilight fans out there. A Twilight-related novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella will be out June 5th. If you're not quite sure who Bree is, USA Today explains:

The new novella is told in the voice of the teenage Bree, a "newborn vampire" whom we meet on page 569 in Eclipse. Ten pages later, she's dead.

The print run for this character who lived all of 10 pages previously is 1.5 million. Now that's impressive.

As an author I can tell you ...

Small Rant

I am blogging at Genreality today about the term TSTL* and my complete dislike of it thanks to the frequency with which I see and hear it lately. My request is that we all stop using the term as a lazy short-cut for "I don't like this heroine" because, honestly, it's kind of annoying.

*Meaning "too stupid to live" and usually referring to romance heroines and almost always used in a way that has nothing to do with the heroine actually acting in a way that is TSTL…can you tell this makes me a...

Brava Writing Contest

If you visit here regularly you know that I got my writing start with Kensington Brava through a contest run by bestselling author Lori Foster off her website, the Brava Novella Contest. Lori, who is incredibly generous with her time, picked her favorite entries from those submitted and gave them to her then-editor, Kate Duffy. It was a fabulous way to get your work in front of an editor really fast. Thanks to Lori's contest, I got to know Kate and eventually sold to her.

Well…Brava is...

Excerpt Time

Fabulous fellow author Shannon Stacey had this to say on her blog about LEAVE ME BREATHLESS:

I finished up Leave Me Breathless by HelenKay Dimon, which was phenomenal!

Needless to say, I love her.

Decided I would provide a not-posted-anywhere-else excerpt that gives you a taste of the personalities of Ben and Callie, the hero and heroine of LEAVE ME BREATHLESS:

"The people in this courthouse need to grow up." Callie made that observation the second after she closed Ben's office door and started...

Release Day!!

Today is the official release day for my debut Harlequin Intrigue, UNDER THE GUN. Let's take a minute and stare at the pretty cover:

Nicely done, Harlequin art department. Nicely done.

The hero gets shot in the first scene and struggles with his injury through the rest of the book. The heroine is accused of killing the man she dumped the hero to marry. It has gun battles, explosions, a nasty fire and a scene with a helicopter (thus explaining the cover). So, really, in addition to my...

Book Talk

I'm over at RR@H Novel Thoughts & Book Talk chatting about LEAVE ME BREATHLESS. Specifically, chatting about my heroine, Callie Robbins and her snarky little attitude.

And there's a giveaway. Check it out.
