“If you want something real you have to learn to be patient. We can’t expect the authentic love that we long for to just fall into our lives. If you’re not ready you won’t get it and if you’re stuck chasing a love that isn’t for you, you will overlook your blessing. Take some time to ask yourself what it really is that you are longing for. Practice patience. Your love will come when your heart is right.”

“My solitude doesn’t depend on the presence or absence of people; on the contrary, I hate who steals my solitude without, in exchange, offering me true company.”

“My heart didn’t break into a thousand pieces after he left. Instead, I realized all the things he didn’t do. He didn’t want to hear my stories. He didn’t ask me questions. He didn’t smile when I was talking to him. He didn’t hug me out of the blue to make me feel good. His hugs were always a preamble to something else and after he was gone, I wondered if he ever knew me at all.”

"hither" by s.jones

Was surrounded by lovers

Felt myself capsizing

Drowning in my lonely sea

Wondering if He’d seen me

Cared enough

To reach out

& save me.

Could He read my thoughts

Understand my mind

Been blessed with the gift of foresight

To know whose I was

& why I was

Allowing myself to be baptized

In that moment

Amongst strangers?

Did He ache as much as I

Contemplate as much as I

Placate as much as I

Feeling them all out

Over & over again

Until each pawn was fully played?

Had he grown tired too

Wondered out into the sea

Looking for a reason

To stay afloat

Just a bit longer?

In saunters

Bliss

Ecstasy

Fullness

Erosion

Eternity repeat.

And when you begin to doubt him,

He will kiss the thoughts out of your head and hold you like

An ocean would a seashell.

He will hold you in ways you thought only a rose bud could hold its petals.

He will remind you that trust does not make you weak and

Gentle does not mean powerless

And all the shadows and fears you have locked in the back of your mind

Will vanish the second he calls you

Beautiful.
