Third time’s the Charm

So I got my acceptance letter back for Book 3, Fated For Forever, tentative release date is October 5th. I have submitted Book 4, Fated Forgiveness, tentative release date is November 7th, and finishing up Book 5, Fated Healing, tentative release date is November 21st.

I have been pushing hard to get these books written because I really wanted to give my readers an Arkadian Christmas book. So I have been writing almost non-stop for three weeks! lol  I have Book 6 to complete, Fated Surrender and then I get to work on my Christmas edition, Book 7, Gifts of Fate.

I also have put together a Street Team of wonderful ladies who are doing so much to help me. They have helped me organize my Facebook page and more and more wonderful readers are joining the party.

I get excited every time I get an email from a new fan. I save every single one of them, they mean a lot. The next couple months are going to be amazing, I can’t wait!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly~

Good~

So I have been riding the most amazing roller coaster ride for the past month or so, since my first book, Fate Knows Best was released. I think I crashed my Facebook app…(twice) and hit the refresh button on BookStrand (a bajillion) times. I did a dorky happy dance when Fate Knows Best hit #1 in sales on BookStrand and held it for nearly 3 weeks. I was a complete spaz.

Less than a month later book 2, Fated to Be Family was released and broke into the top 10 for Menage on BookStrand. I currently have two books in two different genres in the top 10.

My poor overly caffeinated self can barely make it through the day I’m tweaking all over the place.

And the…

Fate Knows Best hits Amazon. (whimper)

Bad~

I got my first unfavorable review (for which I stuck out my tongue in protest)

Ugly good :)   ~

Then the most amazing thing happened. My book started to really sell on Amazon.

My overall Kindle Store rating is went from 15k, to 13k to 5k and is now sitting at 3,451. I’m raked 1#171 in the Erotic section in the Kindle store!

But what I have loved the most about the past month has been all of the new friends/readers that I have met on Facebook, who have reached out to me, simply to tell me how much they have loved my books. They ask when the next one is coming out and have been the most supportive readers ever! I look forward to every scene I write now hoping that it will be one that everyone enjoys.

So first month is over and I think I did okay. Book 3 is finished and I’m wrapping up personal edits this week. Book 4 has been started. I hope that I make more important friends and that my books will always make at least one other person smile.

Two Weeks Later

Ok so I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised when Fate Knows Best, climbed into the top 10 on the Siren BookStrand best sellers list. I was, however, floored when it hit number one. I nervously kept checking the site hourly to see if it moved. It did not.

Now two weeks later it is still number one.

I kept asking my friends, “Does Siren have the right stats?”

I never imagined the amount of positive reactions I would get to the book and the characters. I have had wonderful readers reach out to me on Facebook asking about certain characters, and I had a moment where I realized, this is real.

People can read this book and know what goes on in my crazy brain.

And they like it    : 0

Now I have Fated to Be Family about to come out and I’m nervous all over again. I just hope that my readers like the second book as much as they did the first.

In case you missed it, I’m giving away the brand spanking new Arkadia swag :) Check out the promotions page on my website. http://www.alaneaalder.com/promotions...

Personally I love the mouse pad. I may have to bug my publisher to let me meet the model on the Fate Knows Best cover. YUM

Whirlwind of Excitement

So Siren accepted Book 2!! And after being stalled for three weeks I started on Book 3. I feel like this is one black hole of a book. lol. It just doesn’t want to end, either that or I don’t want to let my fennec go.

Book 1 Fate Knows Best had an amazing release. I spent the first couple days watching it rise in the rankings on the Siren website. I’m shocked to say, it’s still sitting at Number 1. I have also received six 5 star reviews, evidently I know what I am doing with this writing stuff.

Book 2 Fated to Be Family is due out in June and I just got the cover. I’m a little nervous about this one, my first menage book, dun dun duunnnnnnn. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it does well.

I am determined to finish Book 3 this week, my characters from Book 4 are knocking on the door. There are some hilarious scenes coming up in the series,, if I can only get there.

Book Two is Finally Finished~ And Away it Goes

I finally finished Book Two which now carries the title Fated to be Family. It’s my first menage novel, I’m excited to see how it does. It now clears the way to start Book Three, my first M/M.

I’m still learning about promoting and getting my name out there. I feel like I’ve walked into a project halfway through and I don’t know where to start, there are things I probably should be doing , I just don’t know what they are.

Hopefully Book Three will quit fighting me so I can get it started. ;P

It’s Official~ My Craziness is going to Print

Does it solidify how much of a goofball you are when a publishing company wants to print what’s in your head?

I got my acceptance letter from Siren today, I was floored when I checked my email, I really didn’t expect  to hear back from them so soon. The electronic copy will be available in May and the print copy will be available in September.

Now the real work begins :)

Titles and Synopses

Yes the title of the post is correct. Synopses is plural of synopsis. I know, I Googled it :)

Anyway…

I hate them. Both. Titles and Synopses.

I just finished book 2 and cannot think of a title. Book 1 (which was labeled Arkadia Rough draft until the minute of submission) was just as hard to title. I will wait for my awesome Beta reader to give me feedback about Book 2, maybe we can collaborate when she finishes.I don’t even want to think about the Synopsis right now, I may crack.

Instead I am starting Book 3 tonight. I have been DYING to write about these characters I can’t wait to get started.

I may post some teasers here later,I think everyone is going to love Ashby!

~Elation and Anxiety~ The Book submission Cycle

So submitted Book One today, which now carries the title, “Fate Knows Best”. I swear my mouse hoovered over the send button for at least a minute. Heart racing I hit the send button. Then in an instant, I started to doubt every word I typed, the plot, the characters, everything. Submission guidelines state that it could take up to four weeks for a response, I may be dead by then! I have started keeping my email up just in case a new email pops in, I can see if it’s something back from the publishing company.

Meanwhile I’m about halfway through book two, no title yet :) and on the downhill slide towards the ending. Then I will have to edit that and write a synopsis. Let me tell you, writing a book is easy in comparison to the synopsis. Sell your book in 300 words or less, and include a hook to draw the readers in. How about “read muh book kthnxbai” lol just kidding.

I feel like I have been working on book two for too long, I really need to buckle down, but then it’s like,,, I’m hungry, God I’m craving fresh bread for my ham sandwich, damn my pantry is a mess, where did I put the new storage containers for organizing my pantry? Oh right there next to the shelf paper I need to put in. Opps out of yeast, I’ll run to Walmart real quick. Ohhhh new books are out. I go home make the bread, organize the pantry, put down shelf liner, eat the brownies I got at Walmart and read my new books. Bread is finished, I’m not hungry and I look at the bread like ‘why did I make this again’? Then the light bulb goes off. I wince, because now I’m too tired to write. Rinse, Lather, Repeat for like a month. Then in one night while in the throes of a sugar free red bull fix I bang out 20k words.

I really need to work on my writing techniques.

Anyway, Fate Knows Best is in the hands of the publishing company and book two is almost done.

Back to the grind….I’m hungry……….

…….lol
