Sun, rise swift and soothe this shadow. Steal this sting and soften this stun. Let nothing steal our gentleness, let nothing rob us of our instinctual need to love, and accept love in return. Know this, for all you marginalized, for all you fearful and trembling: I am here for you, now, and always. I do not know what I can possibly do, but I will do all I possibly can. You are not alone, nor will you ever be. Here, burning bright in the darkness, hope remains…find your spark, lend it to ours, watch our fire spread. Watch our flames grow.

Buddha once said “I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done.” No matter what world we wake to tomorrow, we have work to do. We have compassion to spread, we have kindness to spread. We have friends to protect, we have families to support. We have understanding to practice, patience to build. We have life, so much life, and we have to shine bright lights on those whose lives and the importance of them, have taken a backseat for far too long. We have rights to fight for and so many people to love. So much light to chase. We cannot heal a wound, a split down our center, by ignoring it, nor by running away from it. Only though the work we must complete can we heal, only by giving our hearts and kindness to all those that need it most, only by loving, openly, wildly, freely, can we progress. We will sleep tonight and wake to a new country, but at our centers, we are all the same and we must not forget this. We cannot abandon hope when the lights dim low, we cannot sacrifice our tenderness when grace goes unanswered. Love. More.

Today, an unnamed number of years ago, @sarahlinden wandered into this planet. Today, on this day, she wanders still. Happy Birthday to such a beautiful spirit, filled with wanderlust and saturated in home. To the woman who inspires me and challenges me and forces me at all times to be the best version of myself possible. To my partner in crime, my co-author, my light chasing fellow nomadic soul. Happy Birthday to an amazing mother who is better at it than she realizes, to an amazing friend who always shows up, always, even if people have not earned it. To a woman who has endured, fought, and built the life she lives; to a woman who does what only the very best people do, leaves everyone she meets, sees, and touches, better, happier, and more alive than they ever were before. What a gift. Happy Birthday @sarahlinden , thank you for letting me wander in Your life.
.
Everyone do me a favor, either here or on her page, wish her a happy birthday and tell here where in the world you are doing it from. It would mean a lot.
