Typewriter Series #1705 by Tyler Knott GregsonText for Tired...

Typewriter Series #1705 by Tyler Knott Gregson

Text for Tired Eyes:

Days will come, days are here
that do nothing but
Test the depths of this kindness,
put metal to the mettle of it
to see if I can stand
the scraping.  I call them
empty words, empty promises
if I cannot keep them when pushed
to the breaking point, if I cannot bend
when they aim to shatter?
We’ve not been here before, these
are new shores and we’ve only
old ships, but we will put footprints
to sand and refuse to colonize,
but learn, but give the love we have
and refuse to stop when it’s not
returned.  These are the days of fighting
for love, all love as love is love is love;
these are the days that drop a long
line into the reservoirs of kindness
I have collected along the way.
Watch the fathoms fall away,
watch the knots on the ropes
as they disappear into the endless
darkness of my compassion.  You will not
hit bottom, no matter what you bring,
no matter what you strip away,
you will not feel the sandy floor
of my seas.

an aura of your warming,
as I fall asleep."

It’s funny, having a career in a creative world means you meet a lot of creative people that create a lot of creative art that you are lucky enough to enjoy. My brilliant and lovely friend @evazellmer made this for me, this perfect representation of what has been a life motto for me as long as I can remember.

.

We ARE the Chasers of the Light and we must spend our lives doing exactly that. Find your light and chase it, with reckless abandon, and never worry about catching it. Chase the light, and know I am chasing it too.

My goodness there are so many things to fall in love with. So...

My goodness there are so many things to fall in love with. So much to appreciate. Wake each morning, fresh, and open to the descent into that love. Wake ready to pick out each and every perfect thing you see. Flaws are easy to find, anyone can shine light on what’s broken, be the one who is a spotlight for all that’s not.

.

Also, if you are in or around the Helena, MT area today, @sarahlinden and I will be doing a book signing and reading of #NorthPoleNinjas at 3:30 at the Montana Book and Toy Co downtown. :)

This gregarious little green bean was Typewriter Series #95 four years ago. On this night, I hope all of you are surrounded by whatever and Whomever you call home.

.

Please know how thankful I am for every single one of you. For making it even remotely possible for me to do what I do. For supporting my words and the heart that produces them. Thank you for your strength and the community you have helped me create. I love you all and I am here for you should you ever need. Know that.
