And Now for Something Completely Different…
Well, not completely. Final edits for my first book are finished and I believe that I am 100% satisfied with the work as is (this could change at a moment’s notice, usually around 3 am when I am in the process of dozing off and my brain says “Ah! I have an IDEA!”). Let’s hope that doesn’t happen for this book again. I am now working on my second book while waiting for the time to pass between now and the cover art shoot date. If I keep working like I have been, (minus this weekend since my mum-in-law is coming), I could ostensibly have my second book done by my July 2 birthday…we’ll see. After that one (and more likely during), I will be working on Book One of my five book series, title and info for both project 2 and project 3 TBA.
My friend convinced (read: twisted my arm-kidding!) to let her be the “beta-reader” (I think she just wanted to read it first), I hope she likes it as much as I do!

When the Muse hits…
My first book is in final edit and I find myself STILL getting ideas to add! My total word count for the five short stories is 2 words away from 40,000! I’m sure I’ll hit that and then some, as I am going through all of them again and am only on the first one! Tentative get-together for cover art scheduled for 2 weeks from this coming Saturday (June 8). So excited I could squeal (but I’d wake everyone up, so I won’t)!

The Excitement and the Letdown…
I am so excited! My first (first to publish) book is in final edit!!! I ended up adding approximately 1,000 words total between the five short stories and then sent it off to be edited! The letdown? I am done. Done writing it. Whatever shall I do now? So, being the problem-solver that I am, I immediately started working on two more writing projects, one which will (most likely) be a novella, and a second which will be the first book in a five book series!
I tend to work best this way, having more than one project going at once. When I hit a writing block on one, I go to the other then switch back once the block is lifted. Doing an anthology of five short stories as I did with the first book was perfect and I ended up finishing the last two within days of each other.
More information about the first book will be forthcoming, including full title, maybe a teaser, cover art and trailer. I am thinking of doing a blog tour once I figure out exactly what it is lol.
For now though, it is back to writing!

From 3 to 5
If you’ve been following along with my adventure, you know I finished my first book (which is now in editing) just recently. I have already started another project relating to that anthology of short stories (The Fantastical Life of Serenity) AND started another project which was born through brainstorming between my husband (also an author) and myself. This other project started out as a three book series of paranormal romance/mystery books. As of last night, this has turned into a FIVE book series! I already have basic ideas for all five books. I am going to be a very busy writer! Now, back to editing so I can completely concentrate on my writing!

Musings for a Thursday
I never imagined when I started writing the five short stories that ended up in my anthology “The Fantastical Life of Serenity” about three years ago (much like an artist doodles, I was just sort of typing down disparate ideas) that they would come together, culminating into a story that weaved them into and around each other like the threads of the Fates. I was literally just “doodling”. I had about seven pages of three of them, five of another and only two of another. They were stories I had started but never could figure out where to take.
Then, one day last year or so, I thought, why not put these short stories together in a book, like Carver’s Shortcuts? So, I started the project…but at the time I was the mother of an infant who hated to sleep and not much ever came of my attempts. More recently, however, now that he sleeps more consistently and is 18 months old and able to entertain himself for extended periods, I thought I might try again. In a matter of two or three weeks, I had completed all five short stories (ranging between 6,500 and 8,000 or so words each). All of a sudden, I had a book done! It is now being edited and based on suggestions from the editor, will most likely end up being a bit longer than it is at the moment. I couldn’t be more excited! I am so excited in fact, I have already started another project, one that ties in with the anthology. Stay tuned for more on that!
I am in contact with my modeling photographer regarding cover art and am determined to have this anthology out in the very near future!

No Rest for the…Wicked?
Ok, so I am not really (all that) wicked, but it made for a good subject line. I am so happy to have finished my book late last night, technically early this morning, and I am already now elbows deep in an editing project. I am already looking to start my next book in the next few days while simultaneously getting the first one ready and published. I will do all this while being a wife and mother of a teen AND a toddler. A multi-tasker you say? Why yes, yes I am.
