Architecture on the move
“Walking City: An Evolving Video Sculpture Morphs in Response to Architecture February 5 Created by Universal Everything, Walking City is a slowly evolving video sculpture that gradually changes form through dozens of permutations while the core motion, the act of walking, remains the same. Referencing the utopian visions of 1960’s architecture practice Archigram, Walking City is a slowly evolving video sculpture. The language of materials and patterns seen in radical architecture transform a...

Anyone needy of IT help …?
Let me shout first and loudest – ME ME ME !!! Stringer was the brains in our household and taught me a great deal more than I know. (I once knew it, honestly …) Without him, I can find my way around, by and large, but as to being able to solve unspeakably irritating problems like WTF has gone wrong with my Chrome browser … no way. Bloody alas !!! My time of IT-lack-suffering may have come to an end: I came across a bloke this-arvo – no, he found me, actually, the kind feller More…

I Conquer The World With Words

A home sweet home
Since you know already (the words have fallen from my own lips) that I’m an obsessive compulsive, you will not be astounded to learn that I Move Furniture. Pardon ? No, not other people’s – my own !!! WILL you stop interrupting ?! – I’ve hardly got started … Oh, ALright: I’ll state it more clearly then, so you’ll stop asking with raised eyebrows how it is that a person with a crook lower back indulges herself in so physical an entertainment … I like to have my furniture differently arranged,...

Another photog. pushes the envelope
Julie often shoots amazing frames: I have meant on several occasions to put a link to any one of a number of them. Finally got my act together for this one: you will be amazed. It’s not that you’ve never seen the subject photographed before – it’s the way it’s photographed.Filed under: beauty, France, photos Tagged: L'instant âné

For the sports mad – or anyone who laughs!
This short film from HBO was made … for some reason. What that was, I have no idea ! But it’s one of the funniest things I’ve seen in an age: do take a few moments to watch an array of sports being allocated out amongst various ethnic groups.Filed under: fun, sport Tagged: HBO

They’ve finally slashed WinXP’s throat
I wish I knew what it actually means to me, this advice from Microsoft on the other PC of Windows XP’s being no longer supported. I inherited the entire rack in the officethat Stringer set up for us, of course[*]; and as time passed and I worked my way through a range of dubious to downright crooked ‘IT Support’ blokes, my own PC’s innards became more and more choked. As did I, but with rage … Happily, I eventually found a clever and genuine IT Support bloke, who has been so efficient that I...

Weekly Writing Challenge: Fifty
This short post, an entry into TDP’s Weekly Writing Challenge, is a very large milestone for me. It is so large that I can’t see over it or around it: this is the biggest milestone ever seen … It may look perfectly normal to you – to anyone – but it marks a period of my life that I have, finally and irrevocably, now brought to an end. I shall never again writeof the loss of my indescribably loved husband. I told one of you in a comment, just the other day (and I’m sorry, More…
