2014 is close to ending. We have about one month left to try and read as many books as we can. I had set a goal of 45 on good reads and I achieved it. My new goal is 50 but who knows maybe I can hit 55 hahahaha. One can only dream.

Haiku – Cold Day at the Park

Blustery, frozen



Hands and face like tomatoes



A winter like day

My son wanted to feed the ducks at the park, so I had promised him we would. So, so, so, cold out there. Would have been nice if it was warmer, but we enjoyed ourselves before retreating inside for some Starbucks coffee (I had the coffee, not my two-year old – just wanted to clear that up).



Are you ready for the winter? Not sure I am, but it is coming whether I like it or not.

Frozen in Time

There’s a lot of life in that old freezer.



It’s a chest freezer actually, from the 1960s I think. Dirty white with spots of ancient rust and it makes a horrifying screech when the lid is opened. For decades it sat on the huge back porch of Nannie’s farmhouse, ran perfectly, and never skipped a beat.
