Thanks for all the kind wishes regarding the passing of my father. It's back to work for me, something my dad would've appreciated and insisted upon. With that in mind, here's an article out yesterday by CBS News with a bit of my work and book in it: http:

Sad news. My dad, Steven Gyurko, has died. He was 72 years old. He collapsed and passed away in his home. He had been unhealthy for a number of years due to heart attacks, diabetes, and aging, but he continued to enjoy his friends, family, grandkids, and watching news of my public career unfold. Thankfully, my mom and him were inseparable, and she graciously took care of him for many years while his health worsened. My parents had been married for 52 years and counting. The last time I saw my dad in person he voted for me for US President in 2016 (The Atlantic recently ran a video with his voting in it). I had Face-timed a lot recently with my dad, and my relationship with him was always good through the years. 18 months ago as I saw his health worsen, I offered to arrange and pay for cryonics for him, but while he wasn’t religious, he simply did not want to do it. He chose to be cremated. He was, however, a great admirer of science, technology, transhumanism, and machines. My mom is pretty devastated, and she has come to live with me in San Francisco. She’ll be helping my wife and I raise our kids. A bit of history: My father and mom escaped oppressive Communist Hungary in the middle of the night in 1968. I was born, a few years after my sister, in Los Angeles, California where my parents settled. My father started a small plastics business that did well. For him and millions of other immigrants, the American Dream is very real, and thankfully, he realized it. He loved cars and dirt motorcycles, and the picture below is of my dad and I many years ago on an enduro motorcycle riding adventure, something we did often. My father grew up in a tiny village in Hungary, so it’s been quite a journey for him to see all that has happened in the modern world. I’m very proud of what my dad did in life and how he did it. He was a dedicated family man and a strong-willed individual that lived life on his own terms. The last words I said to him were: “You did great.” Also, two years ago I did a video interview of him via Huff Post that gives a good glimpse into his life: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/zoltan-... I love you, Dad!
