New book news!
Today, I cleaned like I was related to Mr. Muscle and I'm bringing home a newborn. I've sprayed, cleaned, set Roomba to whiz around the floors ;) - that little robot and I are beyond besties. Why the cleaning haze? I'm starting a new book. Bound to the Bounty Hunter will be out in the world in July and before I can hit the keyboard the house has to look like Queen Elizabeth is heading my way for tea and cake. Over the course of Bound to her Protector (working title), I won't show Roomba the affection he deserves, but I'm excited to be hitting the keyboard. Do you have any rituals?

All hail the pavlova - it's birthday time.
The fake Gordon Ramsay whipped this up yesterday. I am totally on the Kiwi side of the fence that we made the awesomeness that is the pavlova. It's covered in fruit so it has to be good for me right??

What's in your bag???
I was driving my snazzy car and asked the fake Gordon Ramsay if he could grab my sunglasses from my bag.
He shook his head. “I won’t find them.”
I turned to him (at the red light of course).
“That racehorse that went missing a few years back? Pretty sure it’s in your bag along with my tennis racquet I can’t find and the jar of peanut butter you said I didn’t buy, but I’m pretty sure I did.”
I won’t bore you with what followed, but for all the people who heard us, my apologies. For the record there was no peanut butter in my bag, however, I did empty it out. I don’t think it’s too bad do you?

Shhhh. Hide these books.
I was chatting with a friend of mine this week about books and I sent her a pic of the bookcase in our lounge.
She immediately texted back with "You keep your romance books on display?" Hers were hidden in her room. Well yeah, mine are on public display.
Owning Violet is nestled next to Middlesex, Fake and Murder at the Vicarage. One of the Fifties is hanging with Andre Agassi's Open, The Catcher in the Rye and The Book Thief. It got me thinking, are there books that are your secret guilty pleasure that you keep in your bedroom or are they proudly on display?

This girl is NOT quitting!
I was on my walk around Redondo and I came across this billboard which made me pause.
You SuckI’ve quit on a few things in life. I won’t dwell the list is loooooong.
I’ve nearly quit on writing about seven million times, but that’s because the demons in my head tell me I suck. Sometimes I listen. There are things I will never quit.
I won’t quit telling my grunty-teen that I love him. Even though he bristles when I do and does a plank when I pull him into a not-wanted hug. I never told my mom enough and I regret it. I hope some of this will stick with grunty-teen like World of Warcraft does to him.
I won’t quit the notion that there are more good people in the world than bad. Though Belgium gives way to a pause. If I quit then they’ve won. Nope, not on my watch you haven’t.
I won’t quit on forgiving myself for the things in my past, I can’t fix, the long list I didn’t accomplish today or catastrophes in my future I can’t foresee, but worry about.
Is there anything you won’t quit?
