Talking Books!
There are plenty of reasons to write and being invited to book club meetings is certainly one of the lovely aspects. Thank you so much to the New Ireland book club who treated me to a lovely meal and great company at the Trocadero restaurant last week...and of course the lovely present!!

Finding the right words....
I love writing, yes, honestly, I do! There are times it can get me hot under the collar and all that, and there are times when not being able to find the right words really frustrates me, but by and large I'm glad I've chosen this sometimes crazy path.
Last night ended the 6 weeks writing workshop at Carousel Creates, and all ten participants were a pleasure to get to know and to be part of their writing journey....
I got all emotional when they presented me a hand crafted pen made from wood extracted from 5000 years of bog...I will be thinking of those 5000 years when I use it!
Their words inside the hand-made card by the lovely artist Patricia Gibney were also very touching, and I was especially delighted that Stephen King took time out of his busy schedule to sign it!!!

Big box means big...
Yes, you've guessed it...Big Hat!!
Some women love shopping - me, I enjoy it, but generally look on it as a mission. Started in town early, but after a number of hours managed to get shoes, bag, bits and bobs, and of course, THE HAT!!
Roll on the wedding....

A Reading Hit in Cork!
"Pictured at the very successful Readers' Day in Library Head Quarters in Cork -L-R Bernie Wallace, Cork County Library, crime writer Louise Phillips, novelist Roisin Meaney, Frances Tracey of O'Mahony's Booksellers who sponsored the event and Christina O'Sullivan, Cork County Library."
I had such a great time at the Readers' Day in Cork last Friday. A fantastic crowd with lots of wonderful questions and an opportunity to meet so many lovely people, including fellow writer Roisin Meaney.
Apparently RED RIBBONS and THE DOLL'S HOUSE are a great hit within the libraries in the region, being constantly out on loan!! In fact if it hadn't been for getting stuck in traffic for hours on Friday night in Dublin due to the One Direction concert, it would have been pretty much a perfect day!!
