“I love this awesome charity that raises money for families of kids with cancer, and they are part of a contest today & tomorrow to get a very large grant. Since 2007, John and Hank Green have run the Project for Awesome every December on YouTube. Last year, P4A raised $1.5 million, which was split among Save the Children and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and then 20 charities. This year, the two primary charities are Save the Children and Partners in Health, and the rest of the charities are chosen by online votes.
My charity every year is This Star Won’t Go Out. TSWGO was established in 2011 in memory of Esther Earl and has since given over $400k to families who have a child going through pediatric cancer treatment. These financial grants have been used for medical expenses, rent and utilities, and other items needed by the child with cancer.
