Sunset on Summer Fun Kindle Fire Giveaway
A Taylor-Made Life

In my recent release, A Taylor-Made Life I wrote the last words – NOT THE END.

If you prefer to read A Taylor-Made Life without spoilers, skip to the end of the post.
If you are familiar with the story, you know in the end the hero dies and the heroine is left to go on with her life. Many readers have assumed that because I wrote “not the end” that the heroine’s story continues in future books.
And that is true. Taylor does have a follow-up story in which she gets her richly deserved Happily Ever After…but that was not my intent with the words NOT THE END.
A Taylor-Made Life is ultimately Gavin’s story, his healing, redemption and Happily Ever After, in which he finds his bride, his son, and his future. But even though Gavin’s story here ends and he passes from this life, I don’t see that as the end of him or who he is. So when I say NOT THE END, I believe Gavin goes on in his story. We may not know that story—it’s hidden from our view, but it goes on nevertheless.

In my heart and mind, I have to believe there is something beyond this world—a place we can’t touch with our physical selves but no less real, a place where I’m still me with all my essential parts that make me unique. And it’s not a belief I hold merely to encourage myself or make me feel better about death—not at all. It’s just that I can’t see it any other way.
Everyone will die. And no one is promised tomorrow. When this life is finished, where will you go? Do you believe this is NOT THE END?

Some people will kill for a Chocolate Bar — Liza’s Take
Welcome to the last day of Recaps for Worst Week Ever
Day 6 – Some people will kill for a Chocolate Bar
Friday starts early for Detective Joey Pascal, heading up the narcotic turtles case.
He wants in Trent’s apartment to search for the doctored Russian chocolate.
Only Trent’s not there. (He’s in the hospital snuggling with Carrie)
So he calls Sam, interrupts his frisky time with girlfriend Dawn.
Sam goes to the Trent’s penthouse to let Joey in.
Only Ivan is there searching for his chocolate, which he wants back.
Ivan is one scary chef and for a while it looked like Sam will die…
But Joey pulls a clever one and only one person dies.
Day 7- Bad day to dress down
Carries wakes in a hospital bed with Trent insisting they have to get to work now, with no time for her to shower. Carrie ignores him and takes a shower any way. She also goes through his carry bag and uses his deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, floss and mouthwash. She considered using his cologne, but changed her mind. Dogs would probably follow behind her barking.
Dress in dirty sweat pants, oily hair, and feeling weak from the lack of food, Carrie accompanies Trent the office, where waiting on the street is one of Trent’s own species.
Worse yet, she’s their new Human Resource manager.
Trent decides the office is inhabitable and they head off to his penthouse.
They walk so fast that Carrie would have had to jog to keep up. Instead she falls behind eventually sits on the step of a closed liquor store. People throw her money, which is kind of nice.
Then pimp boss arrives and tries to make her one of her girls.
She escapes and runs to the lobby of Trent’s penthouse, where the lobby guard tries to throw her out. She tells him she’s Trent’s executive assistant which he doesn’t believe since he heard Trent and a lady talking about getting him an EA, thus he hands her over to a cop.
Fortunately it’s a good cop and eventually she gets back to her home, grief stricken that somehow she’d gotten fired.
When Trent discovers she actually believed the stupid lobby guard, he has Sam drive him to NJ so he can assure he never fired her, he promoted her, and starting next week (Book 2 Oh Stupid Heart) she will begin training on the west coast to become his change specialist…whatever that is.
There lots of more stuff I didn’t tell you about, so if you haven’t read the first book, but want to now, then your lucky day begins tomorrow:

She handed Trent the card. “Sign it, please.”
He signed the card and Carrie presented it to the old woman.
Her eyes rounded as she read it. “You know my name.”
“We’ve talked before.”
“Right. You’re the nice girl who pointed out how much cheaper it would be for me to buy a monthly card instead of paying the daily rate. I appreciated your advice. I’ve been able to buy better food and even had money saved up so, when I got sick, I could get well enough to keep working.” She patted Carrie’s arm. “I’m glad you got yourself a good man. You deserve it.”
Carrie glanced up at him and smiled. “He is a good man.”
She whispered in the old woman’s ear. Whatever she said cause the woman’s forehead to furrow.
She thrust the bills into Carrie’s hand. “I appreciate the thought, but I can’t take your money. But thank you both. You’re good people, and the world could use more like you.”
To his shock, Carrie didn’t argue. She only hugged the woman. “You are good people, too.”
Half the crowded train watched the fiasco. Great! Not only had the old woman rejected his act of charity, but a mob of commuters had witnessed his failed attempt at being a “good person.” His grandmother had to be thrashing in her grave.

Constance Phillips lives in Ohio with her husband, two ready-to-leave-the-nest children, and four canine kids. Before I get started, I would like to say a huge thank you to Kary for having me on her blog. THANK YOU, KARY!
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Brenda. I’m a writer and lover of paranormal romance. I fell in love with the paranormal romance genre many years ago. Although there are many creatures staring in paranormal romance stories, my heart belongs to one: the vampire.
Vampires are very versatile creatures. Some like to portray them as evil, some as good. And some as good and evil. For me, I went the side of good.
When I asked Kary what topic she would like me to talk about today, her request thrilled me. She asked if I would talk about demons, vampires, The Creator, lesser gods and humans, and how they all fit together in the world—history—I have created.
Sit back, grab a coffee or tea—or something stronger—and let’s begin the history lesson, lol.
In the beginning, The Creator made His lesser gods—or angels as we humans call them. As years past, He yearned to create more children. These would be his second offspring. He called them humans. But these children would live a different life than the angels. Humans would spend part of their lives separate from those who resided in The Sacred Dimension—heaven.
The Creator instructed his angels to craft a splendid planet—a copy of The Sacred Dimension—a perfect paradise. This planet was called Earth. Unbeknownst to all angels, Earth would become home to humans until death brought their souls back to heaven.
LOL, are ya with me so far? Or have I bored you to tears?
So, while working hard—with his brothers and sisters—to bring the picture in his father’s mind to reality, Lucifer fell in love with his creation. When the angels finished, they split back to the Sacred Dimension…except Lucifer. He loved the Earth so much he decided to make it his home. But The Creator had a different idea. He called Lucifer back home.
Once the angels were gathered together, The Creator broke the glorious news about humans. Well, to say Lucifer was pissed off is a massive understatement. He flipped out. The Creator stood firm and told Lucifer to accept the way things were.
Years went by, and Lucifer’s anger festered. He watched from the Sacred Dimension as humans destroyed what he’d lovingly brought to life. His hatred grew, not only toward humans, but also toward his father. Finally, he came up with a plan. He would destroy humans and take back what was his.
During this time, Vampier—an angel—created his own children in secret. He fashioned them after humans because he believed them to be the picture of grace and beauty. These children he called vampires.
So, back to Lucifer. Well, he set his plan in motion. He used the Earth to help aid him in the destruction of humans—pretty fitting, wouldn’t ya say, lol? He turned the Earth from a thriving paradise into a dangerous, frightening world.
As you can probably guess, The Creator put a stop to this. He also banned Lucifer from ever stepping foot back on Earth, and from the Sacred Dimension. This just added more fuel to Lucifer’s rage. But what could he do? He knew The Creator and his brothers and sisters were watching him. So, he hid on a desolate rock called the Forgotten Realm, located on the outskirts of The Creator’s universe. There he came up with another plan. If he couldn’t destroy human’s himself, he would send others to do it. But killing them wasn’t good enough. No, he wanted their SOULS. That would for sure stick it to his dad—let him know what it felt like to have something you love completely ripped away.
Enter demons. Demons are Lucifer’s children. He tried to create them in the image of humans, but since all he had left in his heart was hatred and evil, his children turned out as twisted, hideous monsters. These creatures wouldn’t fool humans or The Creator. Hmm, how to solve this dilemma…
So, back to the Sacred Dimension. Obviously, The Creator found out about Vampier’s little secret. Well to Vampier’s surprise, The Creator didn’t destroy vampires. Instead, he allowed them to live on Earth with humans. But there was a hefty price for them to pay: to protect humans from all dangers. During this time, humans and vampires struck up a perfect partnership.
When Lucifer caught wind of this, he freaked! His brother disobeyed their father and he got rewarded for it? This he would not stand for. Time to initiate his new plan: use human bodies to house his demon’s spirits in. This way they could move undetected on Earth, corrupting humans, turning them from their Creator.
But one thing Lucifer didn’t bargain for was vampires could sense the demons, and they were hard to kill and corrupt, unlike humans.
I’m going to skip some details here so I can bring this to a close. So now we come to The Vampire Prophecy. The Creator knew a time would come when the vampires would need help to turn the tides of this endless war. When He learned of Lucifer’s latest treachery—the demons—He came up with a plan of His own. This plan involved both of the Earth’s children: humans and vampires. He scripted The Vampire Prophecy, and Vampier sent it into the hands of the first king of the fifty vampire clans on Earth. The Prophecy was keep guarded and secret, known only to the kings of the clans.
As the years flew by, The Prophecy became myth. Soon, it was forgotten.
Fast forward to the year 2012. Enter Mel from the 26th clan of vampires—the hero in Love’s Prophecy, and Kal from the 5th clan of vampires—hero in Prophecy’s Child, book #2 in the Prophecy Series.
In the beginning of Love’s Prophecy, Mel and Kal find out The Vampire Prophecy has been discovered. When Mel meets Breeana—heroine of Love’s Prophecy—he learns there is something very…unique about her.
The time has come for the two shall make one. From light and dark, look for the mark…
And the story begins…

Katherine wanted to scream at him to release her, but tears clogged her throat. She couldn’t force the words out. With her hands planted on his pecs, she tried to push out of his grasp. Her efforts were pitiful. Instead, he held her face next to his chest with one hand on the back of her head.
“You’re not alone anymore,” Kal whispered against her hair. “Please, Kat. Give me another chance—I’ll make it up to you and Ike. I promise.”
A moan, sounding like a wounded animal, ripped from her throat. Instead of escaping, she gripped his shirt tight as if her life depended on it, and buried her face under his chin.
If only she could believe his words. She was so lonely and tired of shouldering all the responsibility.
The feel of a strong pair of arms around her was her undoing. Just for a moment, she’d allow herself this weakness. And for the first time in years, Katherine let go of her self-control and cried.

Some people will kill for a Chocolate Bar — Liza’s Take
Welcome to the last day of Recaps for Worst Week Ever
Day 6 – Some people will kill for a Chocolate Bar
Friday starts early for Detective Joey Pascal, heading up the narcotic turtles case.
He wants in Trent’s apartment to search for the doctored Russian chocolate.
Only Trent’s not there. (He’s in the hospital snuggling with Carrie)
So he calls Sam, interrupts his frisky time with girlfriend Dawn.
Sam goes to the Trent’s penthouse to let Joey in.
Only Ivan is there searching for his chocolate, which he wants back.
Ivan is one scary chef and for a while it looked like Sam will die…
But Joey pulls a clever one and only one person dies.
Day 7- Bad day to dress down
Carries wakes in a hospital bed with Trent insisting they have to get to work now, with no time for her to shower. Carrie ignores him and takes a shower any way. She also goes through his carry bag and uses his deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, floss and mouthwash. She considered using his cologne, but changed her mind. Dogs would probably follow behind her barking.
Dress in dirty sweat pants, oily hair, and feeling weak from the lack of food, Carrie accompanies Trent the office, where waiting on the street is one of Trent’s own species.
Worse yet, she’s their new Human Resource manager.
Trent decides the office is inhabitable and they head off to his penthouse.
They walk so fast that Carrie would have had to jog to keep up. Instead she falls behind eventually sits on the step of a closed liquor store. People throw her money, which is kind of nice.
Then pimp boss arrives and tries to make her one of her girls.
She escapes and runs to the lobby of Trent’s penthouse, where the lobby guard tries to throw her out. She tells him she’s Trent’s executive assistant which he doesn’t believe since he heard Trent and a lady talking about getting him an EA, thus he hands her over to a cop.
Fortunately it’s a good cop and eventually she gets back to her home, grief stricken that somehow she’d gotten fired.
When Trent discovers she actually believed the stupid lobby guard, he has Sam drive him to NJ so he can assure he never fired her, he promoted her, and starting next week (Book 2 Oh Stupid Heart) she will begin training on the west coast to become his change specialist…whatever that is.
There lots of more stuff I didn’t tell you about, so if you haven’t read the first book, but want to now, then your lucky day begins tomorrow:

He signed the card and Carrie presented it to the old woman.
Her eyes rounded as she read it. “You know my name.”
“We’ve talked before.”
“Right. You’re the nice girl who pointed out how much cheaper it would be for me to buy a monthly card instead of paying the daily rate. I appreciated your advice. I’ve been able to buy better food and even had money saved up so, when I got sick, I could get well enough to keep working.” She patted Carrie’s arm. “I’m glad you got yourself a good man. You deserve it.”
Carrie glanced up at him and smiled. “He is a good man.”
She whispered in the old woman’s ear. Whatever she said cause the woman’s forehead to furrow.
She thrust the bills into Carrie’s hand. “I appreciate the thought, but I can’t take your money. But thank you both. You’re good people, and the world could use more like you.”
To his shock, Carrie didn’t argue. She only hugged the woman. “You are good people, too.”
Half the crowded train watched the fiasco. Great! Not only had the old woman rejected his act of charity, but a mob of commuters had witnessed his failed attempt at being a “good person.” His grandmother had to be thrashing in her grave.
