Hey all!
Happy Thursday!
Check out Katrina's promo post about Intermix Nation on her awesome site, Kindred Dreamheart! (Her fashion is incredible too; she is an amazing designer!).
Straight from her site, from her own words:
"I named it [Kindred Dreamheart] because I've always been ambitious with BIG goals and dreams. I wanted to be everything when I grew up. I’ve done a lot so far, but I'm not there yet. And I'm not giving up. That's my definition of a "dreamheart". Kindred means just that, akin or similar in quality or character. So my female line is dedicated to those like me...a Kindred Dreamheart."
Truth.

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to quickly update you all ... thanks to everyone who has bought the book so far, and for all of the nice reviews! Those reviews are what make my day, even the harsher ones. Amazon is up (Click Me) ... still waiting on iBooks and Nook to be approved. How long do these things take anyways?
Currently mulling something in my brain for my next book (hmmm) ... so we shall see what happens!
All I know is, it's a Thursday night baby and I'm alive.

Oh, hey.
Hello world!
My name is Mary. You can call me Mary, M.P., whatever you like. Just don't call me baby.
Thanks for visiting this blog! I know it is pretty pathetic/boring/sparse at the moment, but hopefully it will soon be chock-full of fun and good times. I'm an indie writer (I guess - I had to google the definition recently, but I'm pretty sure I fit into the category), preparing to self-publish my first novel (hopefully in a week or two!).
As all books probably do, INTERMIX NATION started as an idea. A sentence, actually. In my case, I was lying in bed several months ago, dozing off, when a thought somehow wormed into my skull and started festering there.
Literally rotting.
I, an economics major with no real interest in writing before (although I am an avid reader), could not get this idea out of my brain. I thought about it in the shower, on the subway, at work, when I was eating, sleeping ... you name it. After about a week, in both a thrilling and terrifying moment of clarity, I finally said to myself - "Holy shit! I am going to write this book."
So I did.
A brief teaser:
"There, on her front step, the chorus of guilt that has plagued Nazirah for months began playing the first chords of its death march. What if she stayed home that night and hadn’t snuck out? What if she was there to defend her parents? Why hadn’t she joined the rebellion sooner? Why hadn’t she kissed her mother goodbye? When was the last time she told her father she loved him? Why wasn’t she a better daughter? So she sat, completely numb, and waited for absolution. She is still waiting."
I would love for you to follow me on Twitter! Shoot me a message, and look out for INTERMIX NATION in mid-March!
