Publication! And Travel!

Friday was Publication Day for my little flash story, “Meditation for Mars” in the fifth issue of Inner Worlds Magazine. (That second link takes you to the editor’s letter which introduces the issue, and I think it’s well worth a read, too. It also gives you links to all the other stories, so go ahead… Continue reading Publication! And Travel!

Publication Delay, and More

The latest issue of Inner Worlds has been delayed due to illness. It should be out no later than December 9th (assuming health has returned). When it arrives, I’ll let you know here, and provide a link to my story appearing within it. In more fun news, I’m excited to announce that my first-ever paid… Continue reading Publication Delay, and More

Imminent Publication Announcement

Yes, there’s good news to share: I’ve signed the contract, so now I can shout it out that I’ve sold a story to Inner Worlds. The issue is expected to come out on November 30th, when you’ll be able to read my story, “A Meditation for Mars,” and the other wonderful stories in this issue… Continue reading Imminent Publication Announcement

Post-Milton Check-in

Great news: we are fine. Better than fine. We still have power and internet, which I thought would not happen. We’ve spent the day doing debris clean-up and putting everything back in their places, and now I am beat. Time to sit and sip some tea while relishing our lucky break.

The Approach of Hurricane Milton

Yes, that absolute menacing monster of a hurricane is coming, and looks like it’s going to go right overtop us. Unlike Hurricane Ian, which was downgraded to a tropical storm before cruising overhead, Milton is expected to be at least a Category 1 Hurricane yet when it arrives. Which…yikes! Weather forecasters are calling for sustained… Continue reading The Approach of Hurricane Milton

An Emotional Weekend

This past weekend, we took our Dasher’s cremated ashes up to Gainesville (where we used to live and where we adopted Dasher) to be buried on the property of his beloved (and exceedingly kind) pet-sitters. It was a tear-filled time for all of us, as we recalled what a great dog he was. Even when… Continue reading An Emotional Weekend

A Great Announcement!

The day is here at last, when I can share my good news. I’ve been working at this for some while now, preparing, getting things ready for this day, when I can announce my new venture, and officially launch… …my author page on ReamStories.com! Wait. What the heck is Ream Stories, you ask? Fair enough.… Continue reading A Great Announcement!

Return from Worldcon…and COVID???

I returned from Glasgow, Scotland, where I attended the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon), and checked out the wonderful city of Glasgow. It was an amazing time, filled with meeting so many friends both old and new, and lovely sights, and–believe it or not–perfect weather! Since I live where August is a misery of heat… Continue reading Return from Worldcon…and COVID???

New Beginnings

Here’s the thing about life. It doesn’t stop–not to let you grieve, not to let you bask in joy. You may stop–or attempt to, at any rate. But the world keeps on spinning and moving, spooling out time in that one-way thread into the future. Which, honestly, isn’t always a bad thing, else we’d remain… Continue reading New Beginnings

Update, and it’s mostly bad…

I’ve been away, and totally preoccupied for a long while. If you’re looking for upbeat, click away now, ’cause you’re not going to find “cheerful” below. It’s been a rough time. We lost our beloved Dasher totally unexpectedly on the morning of Sunday, March 17. Still in shock from that, my brother-in-law passed away that… Continue reading Update, and it’s mostly bad…
