Looking for ARC reviewers for a Space Opera book!
On March 20th, 2014, I will release The Terran Gambit, Book 1 of The PAX HUMANA series. In anticipation of release, I am looking for brave, intrepid souls who want to be advanced reviewers. If you do, email me at authorendiwebb@gmail.com and I will send you an ARC (advance review copy). Here is the book description:
The Corsican Empire, or New Rome, as it styles itself, extends the reach of the "Pax Humana" across the thousand worlds, ruling with force and fear. 40 years ago, they returned to Earth, subjugating it and claiming the ancient home of humanity for the Empire.
Now, in 2675, Earth fights back.
Lieutenant Jacob Mercer likes fast motorcycles, faster women, and screamin' fighters. As a reckless space jock in the Resistance fleet he lives for the thrill, and to take out as many Imperial bogeys as he can. At least, more than his buddies.
But with victory in sight, the Imperials thwart the Resistance in a surprise show of devastating force, and Dallas burns from a thermonuclear blast—millions die—a merciless example of what happens to upstart worlds in the Pax Humana.
The Resistance goes underground to rebuild its strength, and in the shadows, the leadership devises a daring plan to strike right at the Empire's heart in a final, desperate bid for freedom.
A plan that will send Jake Mercer right to where he doesn't belong: The captain's chair of the most advanced warship in the galaxy, facing down a psychopathic Imperial Admiral bent on utterly destroying the Resistance, and Earth itself.

My writing residency
So, I decided I'm not writing enough. To make a long post very, very short, I'll only say that I'm now writing over 4000 words per day, with the goal of having 5 new books to publish by the end of January. I'll follow this post with another in a few weeks detailing why I'm calling it my "Writing Residency", what precipitated it, what I'm writing, and what my future plans are.
But all I'll say for now is, I LOVE TREADDESKS! Seriously, I've lost 6 pounds and written 70k words in two weeks. I don't know how I ever tried to write without it.

What I've been up to
1. I rewrote the first 5 chapter of Metal and Flesh. In a word: awesomer.
2. I killed Siesta Luista. He's dead. Dead as a toaster (hat tip, battlestar galactica). And since he is dead, I've removed his name from all my covers, and all his emails from the inside of the books. Basically, he was killing sales, and even he would agree that if his demise lifted sales, then so be it.
3. I decided to switch over to writing a space opera sci-fi before finishing Earth and Sky. I love the Rohvim series, but I need a break from it for a few months, and all I can think about it starships, ftl, space battles, etc, etc. I'm hoping to publish the first one sometime in January, and follow it up with 2 more pretty quickly. They will be more episodic than what I've done with the Rohvim, shorter, and hopefully a really fun read. Here are all the new covers for the Rohvim:

Announcing The Rohvim 2: Water and Blood
The next installment of the Rohvim series is nearly complete. How complete, you ask? What, you don't think I'm really "nearly complete", do you? I am. For your information, it is WAYYYY over 26% done. Once the beginning and the end is written, and I've sketched out the rest, it doesn't take that long to finish. So here we go, I'm setting July 1st, 2013 as the publication date. And guess what? The cover is already done. That's right, you read correctly. The professional cover was just emailed to me by Karri Klawiter this morning. But I'm not going to show you. Not yet. Have you earned it? Tell you what, you go out and either tweet or Facebook about book 1 or 2 (or both!), I will promise to show you the cover by, oh, let's say June 1st. I'll post the cover here that evening. How do I know you'll actually uphold your end of the bargain? It's the honor system. We're friends. Close friends. Of course I trust you. Now go get busy. My next appointment with the cover artist is July 19th, so, optimistically, I'll say book 3 will be out by September 20th.
