Who's Ready for IT WAS YOU?

Get ready -- IT WAS YOU is almost here!

Abby Sellers knows what she wants.
Enduring eighteen years in the shadow of her identical twin sister, Annika, she wants a fresh start. A chance to create her own life, separate from her conniving, deceptive twin.
Surprising both her family and friends, Abby ditches her plans for college and enrolls at a new school instead. There, she encounters West Montgomery, a sexy fellow student who immediately disarms her with his good looks and charm. West takes a liking to Abby and she suddenly finds herself walking a thin line, fabricating a fictional life created not by lies but by omission. She soon discovers West has secrets of his own, secrets that he's not altogether interested in sharing.
Out from under the shadow of her twin, Abby's life—and her relationship with West—blossoms. When Abby leaves town one weekend, something unthinkable happens and her relationship with West is shattered. Reeling from the discovery, Abby fears all of her plans have backfired and she's created a mess for both of them, a mess that no one can clean up.
But West isn't willing to let her go that easily. When he forces her to confront secrets they've both been hiding, Abby must decide more than if she's willing to forgive and forget. She must also decide just what kind of life she wants...and who she wants to live it with.

It Was You by Anna Cruise - An Excerpt

Okay. So we're getting close to the release date. Until then - here's a short excerpt:

“Maybe I should come up there,” he said.“No,” I said. “You shouldn't. I need to get Tana settled and if you were here, I'd just be distracted.”The line buzzed. “Distracted how?”I smiled. “Looking at you. Kissing you. Touching you. Thinking about getting you alone. That kind of distracted.”“That actually doesn't sound bad to me at all.”“Stop. I'll be back before you know it.”“Any chance you'd come back early? Like tomorrow?”I sighed. I wanted to say yes, that I'd hurry back and lie down with him and do all of the things that had been racing through my mind for the last several days. I wanted him to wrap his arms around me, whisper in my ear and make the rest of the world disappear. But I wasn't going to bail on Tana. I could handle a weekend. I didn't want to disappoint him, though.“I would say there's a minimal chance,” I said, choosing to straddle the line. “If I can get her settled and calmed down and show her that life won't end with crazy roommates, then maybe. But is it likely? No. I'll probably be here until Sunday.”He sighed loudly through the phone. “I liked the minimal chance better.”“Me too.”“So try then,” he said. “Try to make it okay for her. So you can come home to me.”“I'll try,” I said. “But no promises.”“Because I'm gonna go stir crazy without you.”“You can find things to keep you busy,” I said.“I want you to keep me busy.”

Ready for more?

IT WAS YOU will be available on Amazon by the end of February.

I'm Going to Eat 93 of These...

It's Super Bowl weekend. Which only means one thing to me: GET THE FOOD IN MY MOUTH!!! I plan on eating 93 bacon cheeseburger eggrolls. Really. They are a real thing.

May your favorite team win and may you not gain twenty pounds!

Your Hand Fits In Mine...

Earlier today on Twitter, I admitted this:
I'm not in middle school and I don't subscribe to J-14, but I'm gonna admit this anyway: I like One Direction.Judge me as you must.

I freely admit a weakness for cheesy, romantic pop song lyrics and, well, these guys have pretty much cornered the market on them. And the reason I admitted this was because, today, as I as was writing about Drew and Abby (the two main characters in It Was You), the very first line of this song kept playing in my head:

"Your hand fits in mine like its made just for me..."

Simple words. Simple idea. Powerful image and it totally drove the scenes for me today.

So, go ahead, rest of the world. Make fun of these boys as their time in the spotlight dwindles (most likely). I'll be using their lyrics for a little while longer.

Oh. Hey.

Isn't this a smokin' hot pic? Yeah, I thought so, too. Which is why it's gonna be the cover for my New Adult novel, IT WAS YOU.

Stay tuned...
