Name the Goose
A friend and I meet once a week at a Mexican restaurant for lunch. It's in a shopping center that has a pond behind the restaurant. For years, a goose has been living there. She wanders around the shopping center. We often see her near the back door or even walking along the sidewalk in front of the stores.
As a joke, we tried to come up with a name for her from the menu. We've narrowed it down to four. Let me know which you like the best and help us name the goose!

Ordinary Magic Series by Devon Monk
If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you know I read a lot. I read mysteries, fantasy, and romance. I especially like stories that combine the three. Devon Monk's Ordinary Magic series does it well. It’s well written and fun. The basic story is about three sisters working in the police department of Ordinary, Oregon and protecting all the inhabitants – meaning mortal, creatures, and gods. Yep, gods. Ordinary is where gods go to vacation.
The first three books are from the oldest sister, Delaney’s, point of view. They are interesting and flow well. The romance works. I really enjoy learning about the gods vacation "jobs". One small dislike is Delaney not sharing her plans and trying to take on everything herself. It often happens in books - that's the whole idea of a hero, but it can be trying when there are multiple books and it keeps getting repeated.
The four book, Rock Candy, is from the third sister, Jean’s, point of view and is a novella. I enjoyed it and felt it had a little more humor then the earlier books; although, they all have humorous moments.
There are two other novellas, Paper Stars and Scissor Kisses, that come next in the timeline but are not listed as part of the series. I’m not sure why. Paper Stars is a holiday story, once again told from Delaney’s point of view, and Scissor Kisses is from Myra’s point of view, the middle sister. I like Myra best. She is serious but determined.
The fifth book, Dime a Demon, is also from Myra’s point of view and a very enjoyable addition to the series.
If you like supernatural/fantasy books with a little humor, romance, and mystery, check out this series. I think you’ll like it.

Michigan
In May, my sister and I took a trip to Michigan. It was a lot of fun. We actually started in Chicago. I had never been there before and found it to be an interesting city. Lots of museums. Our next stop was Holland, MI for the tulip festival - beautiful flowers.
The featured destination was to be Mackinac island. We had wanted to see it for years. We had a good time, but the weather was cold (in the 30s) and raining. The town was quaint and postcard picturesque.
Our other stops included Frankenmuth and Dearborn. All-in-all a pleasant, easy vacation.

Dieting
I've been wanting to lose weight for the last several years. I have started feeling the effects of carrying too many pounds. My back hurts and it's hard to do things like I used to. I've tied a couple of fad diets - just to see if I could do it. I don't know if it was because I wasn't serious enough or because the diet just didn't fit me, but they didn't work.
I decided to try Nutrisystem. I wanted something that provided the meals so that I wouldn't have to do much else. That's not exactly how the plan works. You still have to supplement quite a lot, but at least the main part of most of the meals is set.
I have just finished the first four weeks. It's working, but progress is slower than I would like. I've lost nine pounds. I was hoping for ten so at least I'm close. I intent to try for another four weeks and see where I stand. If I continue to lose, I might try another four weeks. My goal is twenty pounds. I plan to do a full review of the program when I'm finished.
Any advise or suggestions are welcome.
