#8Sunday – Lunar Falls & Honored Grandfathers
Happy Sunday, Everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Today, I’m sharing another snippet from my new release, Lies of Lunar Falls. It’s book two in the Lunar Falls Trilogy and it is out now. If you remember, our hero in this one is Gabe Masters, sheriff of Lunar Falls and Alpha of the local werewolf pack. This scene picks up where last week’s left off. Gabe and Carly are enjoying a rare quiet moment together, and she has been asking him questions about the hunt, and other aspects of Moon Hunter beliefs…
“The goddess Moon,” she said, and Gabe could see her wheels spinning, “now, she’s the Great Father’s daughter, right? He created her out of the purest silver?”
“That’s right,” he smiled, loving the fact that she was trying to learn more about his people. About her people. “And her sister, the goddess, Sun, he forged out of gold.”
“So, the Great Father is really like the grandfather of us all,” she stated, connecting the dots.
“Yes,” he said, sounding proud of her. “That’s why grandfathers … all grandfathers, are so highly revered in our society; it’s a great honor for Moon Hunter males when their child has a child, and they become grandfathers themselves.”
Well, there it is, hope you enjoyed it. Here’s the blurb:
Drawn to the mysterious and sexy shifter who is now her mate by forces she still doesn’t fully understand, Carly Tipton thought she had uncovered all the secrets Lunar Falls was hiding. Secrets that shook the very foundation of her own family tree. But what she’s about to learn is that the secrets of Lunar Falls are only the tip of the iceberg, and that the lies it tells actually go much deeper than she or Gabe ever imagined.
Gabe is determined that he and Carly are going to be free to build a life together. A life without the limits or the stigma of prejudice. But he soon comes to realize that he’s not only fighting for the freedom of their love, he’s fighting for the freedom of all five packs. As GrandAlpha, the fate of his entire people rests squarely on his shoulders as the threat of civil war looms ever larger above him. And when the ruthless cat shifters begin killing innocent humans, Gabe’s problems quickly go from bad to worse.
Lies of Lunar Falls is book two of an adult, sexy shifter romance trilogy.
Lies of Lunar Falls is now live at Amazon, iTunes, and Kobo. Still waiting on Barnes&Noble, I’m afraid. But you can also check out the Lunar Falls website for more info on the trilogy, the characters, the playlist, and the real (creepy) sightings in Ohio!

#8Sunday – Lunar Falls & Cover Contests
Happy Sunday, Everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Well, I’ve been absent from Weekend Writing Warriors for several weeks now, and that’s because I had not one, but two major deadlines looming over my head right at Christmastime! Needless to say, STRESSED was the word around here for the month of December! But that’s all over now, my deadlines have miraculously been met, and here I am.
Today, I want to share an 8 from my upcoming release, Lies of Lunar Falls. It’s book two in the Lunar Falls Trilogy and it’s releasing at the end of this month. If you remember, our hero in this one is Gabe Masters, sheriff of Lunar Falls and Alpha of the local werewolf pack. This is a scene from chapter one where Gabe is pondering his situation. Some small creative punctuation has occurred to fit the scene into eight sentences…
Gabe’s gray eyes glowed like the embers of the fire as he stared into the flames and thought about the Katjie. Why were they here? They normally preferred to stay as far away from Ohio as they could get. Ohio was werewolf territory, and the last thing the cat shifters wanted was to be surrounded by them. They only ventured in when it suited their purposes somehow, and the last time they’d come around, James Masters – his father, beloved Pack Master and GrandAlpha over the five packs – had ended up dead with not even a body for his family to weep over. And now the cats were back and a human was dead, found mutilated and partially eaten on one of the hiking trails.
It had been a long busy couple of days trying to deal with the public’s alarm and the media’s constant intrusion. All that on top of everything going on in his personal life with Carly and his family’s reactions to their bonding had Gabe tense … more than tense.
Well, there it is. How’d I do? Lies of Lunar Falls comes out January 30, 2015. And here’s some exciting news – book one of the series, Secrets of Lunar Falls, is an early finalist in the Book by its COVER cover awards. Something that truly shocked and humbled me since the Lunar Falls covers are the first ones I’ve ever designed and created myself. If you’d like to give me a much appreciated vote, please click here to leave a Like and a comment on the post. Voting ends at midnight on Sunday night. Thanks!

Weekend Jams – Christmas Without You
Ok, so even though I still don’t even have my tree up yet and you wouldn’t know it was Christmastime by looking around my sadly undecorated house, I still have the Christmas spirit going on, on the inside, and the way it manifests itself is, of course, through the music I find myself listening to these days. It is all (well, mostly) Christmas music all the time! And today for Weekend Jams, I’m sharing one of my very most favorites of all time! I’m so excited!
So, back in the day (circa 1984 or so), there was a Christmas special called, “Kenny & Dolly: A Christmas to Remember.” It starred Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and I adored it! They used to show it each year without fail for a good five or six years I guess. And I remember being so incredibly sad when I could no longer find it on TV each Christmas season. I’ve always loved Kenny and Dolly, separately they are each amazing in their own rights, but put them together and BAM! And here’s a very true, very embarrassing story … I actually cried real tears of happiness when I walked by a random Christmas CD display in Wal-Mart a few years ago and saw the CD of that Christmas special staring back at me. I didn’t even know it existed! I said, “Oh, my God. I’m going to cry!” To which my mom replied, “I know, I can see that.” It was like the greatest gift imaginable that year.
Now, the quality of this clip isn’t the greatest, but stick with it. It’s one of my favorite musical vignettes from that Christmas special. The song is called “Christmas Without You,” and the skit is really poignant. I love Christmas!!! Enjoy!

Ok, so here is my offering to you. As some of you may know, I write a romantic suspense series called the Kelly Family, and I recently released novella number five in that series, along with the complete novella set in a compilation called The Kelly Family Novella Collection. Those of you who’ve read the Kelly Family series know that cousins, Storm and Payne Kelly, have some very particular interests when it comes to the opposite sex, so I started wondering what Christmas would be like for these two Dominant men. Enjoy!

“How did we let this happen? We should have had this crap taken care of weeks ago,” Payne muttered, not even attempting to hide the disdain in his voice.
Storm grinned at his cousin’s discomfort. He knew that Payne was big on order and organization, so this last minute stuff really drove him nuts.
“Well, I don’t know how things are at the Sheriff’s Department these days, but the EPD has been keeping me more than busy for the past few weeks, and finding the time to Christmas shop without Nina has been a challenge, so I don’t feel bad,” Storm said.
“Yeah, but don’t you think we’re cutting it a little close, man?” Payne asked. “I mean, Christmas Eve!”
“Hey, at least we’re out here early during the day and not at eight o’clock at night when the stores are about to close,” Storm countered. “Besides, man, we’re almost done. One more stop and we can call it mission accomplished.”
“Well, I’m finished. Who’s left on your list?” Payne asked.
“Nina, of course!”
“I thought you took care of her back at the lingerie store,” Payne replied, frowning.
“Well, yeah, that was part of it. But my kitten needs a few new toys to fill her stocking,” Storm explained as he pulled the car into the parking lot of The Den, a well-known adult book store that carried a whole lot more than just books.
Payne smiled at him. “I thought you liked to be the toy in her stocking.”
Storm laughed at his innuendo as he turned off the car. “Oh, come on, man. You telling me that you have no intention of buying Phoebe something fun for Christmas?”
Payne gave a shrug of his shoulders. “Phoebe and I have just begun to explore her limits, Storm. I’m not sure how much would be too much, you know?” Payne replied.
Storm frowned at him. “No, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I mean, I get that you and Phoebe just entered into a long-term contract and that your relationship is brand new, but … it’s Christmastime! You are going to get her something aren’t you?”
“Man, you just saw me buy that sexy little nightgown back at the lingerie store. What? Did you think I was going to wear it myself?” Payne asked with a sarcastic edge to his voice.
“Well…” Storm joked, and Payne punched him in the arm.
“Fuck you, Stormy,” he grinned.
“Nah, seriously, man … the nightgown was nice, and Phoebe will look great in it,” Storm offered. “But you need to get her something fun to go along with it.”
“Something like what? I’ve got a chest full of dildos and vibrators and nipple clamps, all of which she knows that she is not allowed to touch without me being present anyway. It’s one of our rules. She is not to pleasure herself when I’m not there,” Payne explained.
“And I totally get that. It’s one of my rules for Nina as well,” Storm said. “But … when Phoebe looks at the items in your toy chest, what do you think she sees?”
Payne frowned at him. “I just told you. Dildos, vibrators and nipple clamps. Butt plugs, spreaders, various restraints, paddles and floggers …”
“Oh, would you stop being an ass and listen to what I’m saying,” Storm said, rolling his eyes as he interrupted him. “When Phoebe sees all the things in your toy chest, she knows that you have more than likely used each of those toys on every sub who’s ever come before her. None of the items in that chest were bought specifically with her in mind. None of them were purchased solely for her.”
Payne could feel the wrinkle across his brow deepen as he rolled his cousin’s words around in his head. “And that’s important?” he asked.
Storm smiled at him. “Yeah, Payne. If you’re serious about wanting this long-term thing to work. If you really want this girl to be the sub you finally settle down with, it’s important that you make her feel like she is something special to you. Buy a bunch of new supplies just for her, and make a big show of retiring some of the older stuff. I’m telling you … it’s a gesture that she will love.”
Payne stared at his cousin for a moment and then chuckled. “Since when are you Mr. Romantic, man?”
“What?” Storm protested.
“What the hell happened to The Ice Man? The hardcore Dom who wouldn’t allow his subs to even look him in the eyes without prior permission?” Payne laughed.
“That was a long time ago, man,” Storm replied, a sly smile on his lips. Then he met his best friend’s gaze as he turned serious. “Even Doms have to grow up, Payne. Things change, you know? You’re going around, business as usual, and then one day you turn a random corner and meet someone who changes everything. And it happens just that quick! Suddenly everything’s different. You fall in love. And if you’re lucky … it’s with someone who not only accepts your lifestyle, but appreciates it herself and wants to share it. That’s what I found with Nina, man. And I’m not the least bit ashamed to tell you or her how I feel about her. That’s hardcore. And that’s what you could have with Phoebe if you play your cards right.”
Payne didn’t respond, but he studied his cousin closely as he mulled over his words. He had gone to the BDSM club that night for the sole purpose of finding a new sub to fulfill a long-term contract, but when he and Phoebe met it was indeed totally random, and Payne had been reeling ever since. She kept him off kilter and drove him absolutely nuts sometimes. But she also turned him on in a way that no sub ever had before. She was a game-changer, all right, and Payne had known it from the moment he’d first laid eyes on her.
“Come on,” Storm said, opening his door. “We got some Christmas to conquer.”
***
The dream that he was trying to balance on a very thin beam as he walked across from one rooftop to another made Payne wake with a start. His eyes popped open and he blinked at the familiar sights of his bedroom. He sighed and ran a hand over his face, scratching the thin goatee at his chin. But the anticipated relief that comes with the first morning stretch was abruptly aborted when he felt the immovable mass at his back and realized that he was balanced precariously on just a tiny sliver of his bed.
“What the …”
He looked over his shoulder to find Phoebe sleeping peacefully. She had tucked herself in nice and tight right up against his back, and Payne wondered how long she’d been there. He smirked at her sleeping form as the memories of their very g-rated Christmas Eve ran through his mind. They had eaten a dinner of homemade pizza because she insisted that it had been the tradition when she was growing up. Then that activity was followed by wrapping presents while watching a marathon of sappy Christmas movies. Talk about chick flick city! Weren’t there any masculine holiday specials out there? Maybe something set in a war zone or a terrorist hot spot or something? Anything with a little action to it!
He had never allowed a sub to dictate their activities before, but he had trouble saying no to her. This sub was going to be his undoing, he could just feel it. And yet … he couldn’t stop the grin his smirk had become. He couldn’t explain it, but Phoebe had gotten under his skin in a way he’d never expected. He was crazy about this girl, and as much as he tried, he just couldn’t seem to remain detached and aloof when dealing with her. He wanted to let her in.
Gingerly, he moved, trying to turn over in the small amount of space she’d left for him. It wasn’t an easy endeavor, and when Phoebe opened her sleepy eyes and looked at him, he felt something stir within him.
His face was just inches from hers as he looked into her eyes, and Phoebe suddenly felt like she’d been caught doing something she shouldn’t have. And in a way, she had. She knew that he allowed her to sleep in his bed after they’d run a scene, but she sort of got the impression that he wasn’t actually too keen on the idea of sleeping with his subs outside of play, and she knew that she should have asked for permission first before she’d slipped into bed beside him. But he’d been sleeping and she hadn’t wanted to wake him. Now though, she felt ashamed and embarrassed as she averted her gaze and began to scoot away.
To her surprise, he wrapped his arm around her waist, stopping her attempt at retreat, and he pulled her closer to him.
“Why are you running? You seemed to want to be as close as you could get just a moment ago.”
His voice was a dark sexy rumble as he stared into her eyes.
“I’m sorry, sir,” she whispered.
“I’m not,” he replied. “Although a little more room on the bed might have been nice.”
His ice-blue eyes were hard, and Phoebe couldn’t quite tell if he was being serious or playful. But when he gently kissed her lips she felt herself relax, and she smiled at him.
Payne slid his hand beneath his pillow and pulled out a small gift-wrapped box and held it out to her.
“Merry Christmas.”
Phoebe’s smile grew bigger, and she took the package from his hand as she sat up. Payne sat up beside her as she tore into the paper and lifted the lid. Then she frowned as she got her first peek of what was inside. Carefully, she reached in and pulled out a small shiny metal rod with a bright blue heart-shaped crystal on the end.
“Do you like it?” Payne asked.
“It’s a butt plug,” she replied, looking up at him.
“Yes, it is. But look here,” he said, pointing to a spot near the crystal encrusted end. “It’s engraved.”
Phoebe squinted her eyes as she read the tiny writing aloud. “For Phoebe. Property of PK.”
A small surprised gasp escaped her lips and Payne smiled slightly as he watched her pale blue eyes light up.
“I love it,” she exclaimed.
“I’m glad. ‘Cause there are a few more toys under the Christmas tree out there, literally with your name on them,” he said. “I thought maybe we could replace some of the older items in the toy chest with some things bought just for you.”
“Really?” she asked, looking up at him with the sweetest smile.
“Yeah,” he replied.
“Thank you, Master,” she exclaimed as she threw her arms around him. And she counted herself one lucky girl to have found such a thoughtful and romantic Dom. “I’ve got some presents for you too!”
“Oh, you do, do you?” he said.
“Yeah! Can we go open them now?” she asked, sounding very much like an excited child who couldn’t wait to see what Santa had left her.
“Yes, we can,” he said, smiling at her adorable enthusiasm.
Phoebe squealed and jumped out of the bed, pulling her robe on as she skipped out of the room. And Payne was still sitting on the bed shaking his head when she bounded back in and took him by the hand, pulling gently. He stood and pulled her into his arms, then he kissed her. Long and slow.
“Merry Christmas, Phoebe.”
“Merry Christmas, Master Payne.”
He would remember to thank his cousin, Storm, at the big Kelly Family Christmas dinner later that day.
You can find the Kelly Family series on Amazon, iTunes, B&N, Kobo, and Smashwords. The novella collection will also be available in print very soon.

#8Sunday – The Kellys Are Back!
Happy Sunday, Everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. I missed Weekend Writing Warriors last week due to the Thanksgiving holiday, but I’m back this week, and excited to share a new project with you. The WeWriWa blog hop is a cool blog hop where writers of every genre share just 8 sentences from something they’ve written. It’s a great way to sample new writers and find some new favorites, so be sure to click through and check out the others.
Okay, so this week I’m starting something new. I write a romantic suspense series called The Kelly Family, and I’ve just released a new Kelly novella AND a compilation called the Kelly Family Novella Collection, comprising all five novellas in one volume. So for this eight, I’m sharing a snippet from the new novella, Payne. Enjoy!
Her impatience irked him. Part of him would love to give her a few sharp lessons in discipline and obedience, but he simply wasn’t invested enough in her to bother.
He took his time getting dressed, and then sat down to put on his boots, still ignoring the daggers she was shooting his way from her eyes. When he was finally put back together he turned to the mirror and slowly looked himself over, straightening his perfect light brown waves and smoothing the goatee at his chin. Then he turned toward her as he pulled the key to his handcuffs from his pocket.
“You know, not that it wasn’t hot as hell, because it was. But there’s something to be said for good old-fashioned missionary-style sex,” she said as he released her hands from their restraints and she rubbed at her wrists.
“Yes, there is … it f**king sucks,” he stated without humor as he stuffed his cuffs into his back pocket.
Payne: A Kelly Family Novella, and The Kelly Family Novella Collection are both available on Amazon and Smashwords, with other outlets coming soon. Here are the official blurbs:
Payne Kelly is not a man to be trifeled with. Not on the job, not in a biker bar, and certainly not in his relationships with his submissives. His life is one of discipline and control, and that’s the way he likes it. But he’s tired of going from one short-term contract to another, so, when he goes looking for a sub to settle down with, his orderly world is thrown into chaos when he encounters the beautiful but troubled Phoebe White.
Phoebe’s not sure what to make of Payne when he comes to her rescue one night. But when his knight in shining armor routine turns into an interview to see if she’d be a compatible submissive, Phoebe’s too afraid to hope. Heartbroken over the death of her former Dom, she’s doubtful anyone could ever measure up, and she sets out to prove that Payne’s not serious about sticking around for the long haul.

Weekend Jams – Mr. Grinch!
Ok, so, I missed Weekend Jams the last week or two, but in my defense, things are CRAZY here! In case you haven’t noticed (and I don’t know how you couldn’t have), it’s the holiday season! On top of that, I’ve got not one, but two writing deadlines chasing me down, not to mention a new release that I just quietly slid in there today, but I’ll tell you about that in another post.
Anyway, since it’s the holiday season, I have been doing one of my favorite things and listening to Christmas tunes as of late. I have been nuts about Christmas music for as long as I can remember and I’ve amassed quite a collection over the years – holiday tunes in just about every genre of music you can name. And what I’m featuring today is one of my very favorites. The great Brian Setzer doing a “Stray Cat Strut”/”Mr. Grinch” mash up. Talk about fun! If this doesn’t put you in the holiday spirit, I don’t know what will. Enjoy!

#8Sunday – Lunar Falls & Walks on the Wild Side!
Happy Sunday, Everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Welcome to my installment of Weekend Writing Warriors, the cool blog hop where writers of every genre share 8 sentences from something they’ve written. It’s a great way to sample new writers and find some new favorites, so be sure to click through and check out the others.
Okay, I’ve teased you long enough, so today I’m jumping ahead a couple of chapters to get to Gabe and Carly’s first kiss. In this scene, they’ve just returned from their first date, and an innocent kiss goodnight becomes a walk on the wild side for Carly when Gabe can’t control his inner wolf!
His body leaned into her, effectively pinning her to the wall as he devoured her mouth. She felt his hand on her breast and an aching hunger in her stomach, and she wanted him. God, she wanted him so badly, but this was madness! She had just seen something too impossible to ignore, not even with the promise of the hottest sex she was ever likely to have.
Gathering her strength, she placed her palms flat against his chest, marveling at the wall of sheer rock-hard muscle as she pushed against him in vain. Unable to budge him, she turned her head to break their scorching kiss, and when she looked at him there was no hiding it or denying it. Gabe’s eyes were glowing like heated gray embers as he stared at her! He shut them tight before lowering his head, but it was too late.
Panting from the shock, and their passionate lip lock, Carly stared at him and whispered, “What are you?”

Here’s the official blurb:
When veterinarian, Dr. Carly Tipton, takes a new job in the tiny farming community of Lunar Falls, she expects to build a new life for herself. She expects to meet new people and have new experiences. Maybe she’s even expecting a little adventure. But what she’s not expecting is to fall head over heels in love – not with the town, and certainly not with its ruggedly sexy sheriff, Gabriel Masters. She’s also not expecting all the secrets Lunar Falls is hiding. Secrets that could destroy everything she ever believed was true about her own heritage and the family she left back home.
Gabe isn’t ready for Carly when she blows into town. That woman has the power to bring him – a man born and raised to be a GrandAlpha – to his knees, and she’s human! That simple fact alone makes her dangerous to Gabe’s position within the pack. But the fact that he can’t seem to stay away from her tells him that this woman is the one. Human or not … she’s his mate. And now Gabe has to find a way to make their bonding complete without sparking a civil war among his people.

#8Sunday – Lunar Falls and Parting Glances
Happy Sunday, Everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Welcome to my installment of Weekend Writing Warriors, the cool blog hop where writers of every genre share 8 sentences from something they’ve written. It’s a great way to sample new writers and find some new favorites, so be sure to click through and check out the others.
Today, I’m continuing on in chapter 4 of my new paranormal romance, Secrets of Lunar Falls. This scene continues on from last week when Gabe witnessed Carly being passionate in her support of the protected wolf pack in the area, and he’s impressed with her. A little creative punctuation has occurred to fit the scene into eight sentences.
He stared into her eyes now feeling the strongest pull as he listened to her heart beating, hearing it speed up as she realized he was staring.
Carly suddenly felt her face grow hot again as he gazed down at her like that. Was that amusement in his eyes or something else, something more raw. She looked away self-consciously as the flutters in her stomach took on new life and the tingle in her skin grew more pronounced.
“Thanks again for your help. Keep me posted on those test results, will you?” he said, his voice deep and gravelly as he looked at her like he wanted to eat her. And he felt her timid gaze through long dark lashes like a blow to his gut.
“Yeah,” she breathed, moving an escaped tendril of raven hair from her hazel eyes.
He turned away without another word and got into his truck, starting it up and driving away, and Carly released the breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding.
Secrets of Lunar Falls is now available for purchase wherever ebooks are sold. You can also order the paperback from Amazon.

Weekend Jams – Spirit in the Sky!
Happy Friday!
It’s time for Weekend Jams here on the blog, and as I write this I’ve got a piece of classic rock running on repeat through my head, and it’s all my husband’s fault! You see, I made the mistake of asking him for a song recommendation for this post and he immediately suggested his most favorite song of all time – Spirit in the Sky. The original version by Norman Greenbaum.
So, while this song is not exactly one of my favorites, I do enjoy it. And it does have one of the most distinctive and recognizable riffs in rock. One that I often find myself grooving to whenever the hubs turns it on and pumps up the volume. Enjoy!

#8Sunday – Lunar Falls and Animal Urges
Happy Sunday, Everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Welcome to my installment of Weekend Writing Warriors, the cool blog hop where writers of every genre share 8 sentences from something they’ve written. It’s a great way to sample new writers and find some new favorites, so be sure to click through and check out the others.
Today, I’m moving on to chapter 4 of my new paranormal romance, Secrets of Lunar Falls, which released on Halloween. In this scene, Gabe has just witnessed Carly being passionate in her support of the protected wolf pack in the area, and he’s impressed with her. A little creative punctuation has occurred to fit the scene into eight sentences.
Gabe couldn’t help the smile that kissed the corners of his mouth as he watched her. She was incredible, and he knew that he was in serious trouble where she was concerned. He couldn’t seem to make himself stay away from her, and she didn’t even know it! She had no clue about the animal urges she set off in him. He had barely been able to control himself after the hunt last night, and he’d wanted sex in the worst way. After he and Joe had taken down and consumed a ten-point buck, he’d dashed off into the night and headed straight to Carly’s place. He sat in the bushes and watched as she drifted across her backyard wearing nothing but a short, thin nightgown as she locked her dog up in his outdoor enclosure, and the thin gown and the glow of the moonlight had left very little to his fertile imagination, and he’d wanted so badly to follow her back inside the house and ravage her. It had been a long, frustrating night.
