Part of learning “ladylike” behavior is about learning to smile politely when someone is being crude. Femininity has long been attached to passivity and to being docile. Men fight, women giggle and fume silently.”

I bookmarked a certain scene in that book (the Titanic one) and read it over and over and over again because I remember thinking it was the most beautiful, heartbreaking thing ever to cross paper. 

Let us also not forget the Royal Diaries, with their pretty gold embossing. 

God, I love these books.
