Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes, #1) — Sara Raasch
The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party (No.1 Ladies Detective Agency #12) — Alexander McCall Smith **
The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) — Mary E. Pearson
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) — Sarah J. Maas
Princess of Thorns — Stacey JayCrown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2) — Sarah J. Maas
Heir of Fire, (Throne of Glass, #3) — Sarah J. Maas ***** The one book (audiobook) I don’t have a photo of.
*** I’m not quite done with this one yet, but I’ll count it for January because of the nature of this photo. They make more sense as a set.

Summary: Sixteen years ago the Kingdom of Winter was conquered and its citizens enslaved, leaving them without magic or a monarch. Now, the Winterians’ only hope for freedom is the eight survivors who managed to escape, and who have been waiting for the opportunity to steal back Winter’s magic and rebuild the kingdom ever since.
Orphaned as an infant during Winter’s defeat, Meira has lived her whole life as a refugee, raised by the Winterians’ general, Sir. Training to be a warrior—and desperately in love with her best friend, and future king, Mather — she would do anything to help her kingdom rise to power again.
So when scouts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore Winter’s magic, Meira decides to go after it herself. Finally, she’s scaling towers, fighting enemy soldiers, and serving her kingdom just as she’s always dreamed she would. But the mission doesn’t go as planned, and Meira soon finds herself thrust into a world of evil magic and dangerous politics – and ultimately comes to realize that her destiny is not, never has been, her own.
What I Liked: A heartbroken girl. A fierce warrior. A hero in the making. That is all you need to know about this beautiful novel written by Sarah Raasch. You want action? You got it! Flirting? Yup! Badass female protagonist? Hell yeah! If you want a YA fantasy novel this is the one for you! I loved the characters and the idea of Rhythm Kingdoms and Seasons Kingdoms! It’s so unique! Each are special with their own conduit, specialized weapon, special environment, etc.
What I Didn’t Like: At no point in the book did I exclaim, “Ugh, really?” I loved every second of this book and if you haven’t already, READ IT
Rating: 4.5/5 omg yes. The sequel, Ice Like Fire, will be released in October of 2015

It’s been such a great reading month, especially considering the slump I fell into after Red Rising (because it was so so good!) Ratings under the cut!
