“DOOMSDAY” a.k.a. the day both Ice Like Fire and The Rose Society release. I am scared for what is yet to come. Death is imminent.

REVIEW: ICE LIKE FIRE BY SARA RAASCH

Book Summary:

It’s been three months since the Winterians were freed and Spring’s king, Angra, disappeared—thanks largely to the help of Cordell.

Meira just wants her people to be safe. When Cordellan debt forces the Winterians to dig their mines for payment, they unearth something powerful and possibly dangerous: Primoria’s lost chasm of magic. Theron sees this find as an opportunity—with this much magic, the world can finally stand against threats like Angra. But Meira fears the danger the chasm poses—the last time the world had access to so much magic, it spawned the Decay. So when the king of Cordell orders the two on a mission across the kingdoms of Primoria to discover the chasm’s secrets, Meira plans to use the trip to garner support to keep the chasm shut and Winter safe—even if it means clashing with Theron. But can she do so without endangering the people she loves?

Mather just wants to be free. The horrors inflicted on the Winterians hang fresh and raw in Januari—leaving Winter vulnerable to Cordell’s growing oppression. When Meira leaves to search for allies, he decides to take Winter’s security into his own hands. Can he rebuild his broken kingdom and protect them from new threats?

As the web of power and deception weaves tighter, Theron fights for magic, Mather fights for freedom—and Meira starts to wonder if she should be fighting not just for Winter, but for the world.

Review:

As most of you know, I’m completely obessessed with the Snow Like Ashes universe. Over a year ago I was lucky enough to score an ARC for Snow Like Ashes. I first decided to download it for being enchanted by the cover art and for liking the sound of the story.

If I was enchanted by the cover art, I was just as enchanted by the world Sara Raasch created. The setting, the charecters, the plot, everything about SLA spoke to me. By the time I was finished, I was completely invested and in love with this series. I knew I had a new favorite for life.

I spent most of September and October of last year speaking of my love for Snow Like Ashes. Every time I would see another person falling in love too I would make the most uhuman sounds of excitement.

And through all this time, I had the pleasure of getting to know Sara Raasch a little bit. She turned out to be one of the kindest, nicest, most passionate people I’ve ever had to pleasure of talking to. Her love for her chracters and her appreciation for her fans is like nothing else I’ve ever seen. I would honestly take pleasure into reading even Sara’s grocery list. She’s so incredibly creative and talented, it’s truly something to behold.

I spent the next few months obsessively checking for a review copy of Ice Like Fire and the moment it was available I did nothing else but read it. Again, Sara did not disappoint. She managed to make Ice Like Fire even more breathtaking than the first book in the series and completely outdid herself.

Seeing Meira, Mather and Theron development in ILF has been one of the best literary experiences I’ve ever had. Ice Like Fire made me laugh, yell, bite my nails, cry. Sometimes all at once! It’s completely possible, believe me!

As some of you may have noticed I’m not one to give 5 stars very often, I actually rarely do, but Ice Like Fire got all of the stars from me. It’s honestly one of my favorite books of all times. I can’t wait to get my hands on the last book of this fantastic trilogy.

I don’t have a single criticism about the second book in the Snow Like Ashes trilogy. Everyone should read this series.

If I had to sum up Ice Like Fire in one word it would be EPIC.

The ICE LIKE FIRE Quote Graphics so far!

Top Left, Ceridwen: “Not everyone in the world has the power they deserve. Do not misuse yours.”

Top Right, Mather: “Loving her was easy. A skill he had picked up methodically until one day he did it without thought.”

Bottom Left, Theron: “I’ll always fight for you. I’ll always keep you safe.”

Bottom Right, Meira: “I’ll pretend to be an obedient little queen until I can crush you.”

Laurent said steadily, “I have your oath that you will see this border skirmish through to its end? Then you have mine: stay with me until this thing is done, and I will take off the cuffs and the collar. I will release you willingly. We can face each other as free men. Whatever is to fall out between us can do so then.”
Damen stared at him. He felt a strange pressure in his chest. The lamplight appeared to wave and flicker.
“It’s not a trick,” said Laurent.
“You’d let me go,” said Damen.
This time it was Laurent who was silent, gazing back at him.
     Damen said, “And—until then?”
“Until then, you are my slave, and I am your Prince, and that is how it is between us.”

Will I ever get over my Captive Prince feels?
