You know those books that are so good, they infuse you with a desire to reach as high? The books that linger in your brain, every turn of phrase, every vivid character, setting a standard in your soul that compels you to strive, fight, improve? That’s THE SONG OF ACHILLES.

Getting to see @madeline.e.miller at @josephbeth last night was a remarkable, invigorating experience. She is eloquent and gracious and brilliant, exactly the kind of person you’d expect to pen a book like TSOA. I am giddy to dive into CIRCE—even more so after hearing her talk with such passion about its world and characters and subtleties.

It gets very easy to lose sight of passion in this industry. Much of it is a job, the nitty gritty things that are necessary for a career author. But I was reminded last night how equally important it is to indulge yourself. To put aside the technicalities and let art be art.

Finished copies of THESE REBEL WAVES are in! Unrelated, I’m unable to move out of this fetal position on the floor, less than a month til release, I have four finished books with my name on them, I used to know what it was like to not sob all the time but that is a distant memory.
