Teach Yourself

“We cant rely on others to be our teachers anymore, particularly after we turn ten.” – Seth Godin

To teach yourself is to learn effectively.

This does not mean learn without the guidance of others (there is much to learn from the past wisdom of the world). This merely means do not be dependent on others to oversee and manage your personal journey of learning.

Now that you have reached adulthood, no one else can possibly act as vigorously in your self interest as you can. It is up to you to exp...

Tiny Changes Mean Huge Results

Demand certainty in yourself. Demand certainty that you will ace your exams. Demand certainty that you will have phenomenal success in your career.

Whatever form of excellence you aspire to, demand a mindset of certainty that you will achieve it.

It’s a tiny change that will bring you amazing results.

Here is a video to show you how to demand certainty in your life.

Have an incredible day,

What Do You Practice?

“We get better at what we practice. So what are you getting better at, barely making deadlines?” – Seth Godin

In college, you are learning more than just facts.

How you conduct your studies matters.

You are building habits for your career. As Seth Godin points out, what you practice is what you get good at.

If your academic history is riddled with procrastination, last minute cram sessions, and assignments completed a day late and a dollar short, these are the skills you are learning to carry int...

Student Entrepreneurship

A few weeks ago, I attended a talk by Alexis Ohanian, who in 2005 co-founded Reddit. Alexis is acharismaticspeaker. He delivered humor and intelligent insight on self development and the value of student entrepreneurship.

During the talk he recounted the turning point in his decision to attemptentrepreneurship rather than law school in a very matter of fact manner. He and afriendwalked out of an LSAT prep-class and into a local Waffle House. There, the two friends faced facts about law school...

Do More Of What You Love

(Originally posted 26 December 2011)

Even with 6 beautiful days left until the ball drops, it’s safe to say the past year has been amazing.

The single most important, and by far the easiest, change I have made in 2011 has been to do more of what I love. It is a self-perpetuating habit that takes a laughably small amount of willpower to maintain. It took a negligible amount of effort to set in action and can be repeated by any person who is willing. Allow me to explain.
