UK Paperback

The UK paperback edition of SPILLED BLOOD is finally here!

"You could hear a pin drop," says the Evening Standard about SPILLED BLOOD. "Chilling...A compelling read."

You can find the book at your local UK bookstore or at online retailers like Amazon or Waterstones.

In addition to SPILLED BLOOD, the UK paperback edition also includes my Jonathan Stride short story, "Spitting Devil." This is the first appearance of Stride in three years, and it sets the stage for the new full-length Stride novel THE COLD NOWHERE, available next year.

Trick or Treat

It's October...how did that happen?

This is a busy month for events around the Twin Cities. You can find me at the libraries in Northfield and St. Croix falls, plus a couple book clubs around the region. My complete schedule is on my Events page.

I also have a very special Halloween event scheduled for Sunday, October 14, at 2:00 pm at the library in downtown St. Paul. I'll be doing a reading of my Halloween short story, "Trick"...a fun little tale about brothers and goblins suitable for adults and kids alike. So come on over to the library and listen to "Trick"...and get your books signed or stock up on gifts for the holiday season. (All my books will be available for sale and signing.)

Meanwhile, stay tuned for more information about the release of the new Stride novel, THE COLD NOWHERE, in 2013.

St. Croix Falls Library

Brian ventures into Wisconsin to visit the library in St. Croix Falls. He'll discuss his Door County-based thriller THE BONE HOUSE, as well as his latest book, SPILLED BLOOD, which borrowed the St. Croix name for one of its locales. All of his books will be available for sale and signing, and don't forget to bring your own books to get them signed.

Shawano Library

Brian visits the library in Shawano, Wisconsin, to talk about his books, including his Door County-based bestseller THE BONE HOUSE and his latest, SPILLED BLOOD. All of his books will be available for sale and signing.

Austin Library

Brian visits the library in Austin, Minnesota, to talk about his books and take questions from readers. Be sure to bring along your books and get them signed. No word yet on whether he will eat any Spam while he's in town, but would you want to miss it?

Okay, I've resisted long enough. Time to start tweeting...yes, I'm on Twitter now, in addition to Facebook. I'm only how many years late? You can follow me @bfreemanbooks. Be sure to pass along the word to your reader friends, too! I have a whopping 50 followers after a couple days, but I'm sure Ashton Kutcher is already getting nervous.

Personally, I love that @NelsonDeMille has about 1,400 followers with zero tweets. No doubt his followers are waiting with breathless anticipation for that first DeMille tweet!

Minnesota State Fair

Brian's back at the Fair! Join Brian and fellow Minnesota mystery author David Housewright at the bookstore in Heritage Square. Bring your cheese curds and corn dogs, and come hang out with Brian and House to talk about mysteries and crack jokes.

Oakdale Library

Brian visits with the Oakdale Mystery Book Club at the library in Oakdale, Minnesota. This book club was ranked one of the top 10 clubs in the Twin Cities! The public is welcome, so come join the discussion. Be sure to bring your books and get them signed.

Village Bookstore

Brian stops in for a return visit to the Village Bookstore in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Remember, Grand Rapids is the home of THE BURYING PLACE (which was a finalist for Best Novel in the International Thriller Writer Awards). Stop by and say hello and get a book signed.

St. Paul Public Library
