Story Time Episode 2: Coming Soon

Greetings Champions. Story Time: Episode II is finished, but it needs to be uploaded to YouTube. As my internet connection is sketchy at best that can be a rather emotional process for both myself and my computer.

At the latest the new Story Time will be up tonight. I will post it here whenever it’s available, regardless of my updating schedule. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long. Thank you for your patience, and have a fantastic April Fools day!

Sneak Peak: Red Rope of Fate

Today’s post is a short snippet of Red Rope of Fate. It should give you an idea what the main characters, Tari and Arion, are like. I’ll be posting a few more sneak peaks in April, but hopefully this will win you over, Champions.

Also I wanted to confirm that I have already recorded Story Time: Episode 2. I’m piecing it together and I hope to have it done by Friday, otherwise I’ll release it first thing Monday morning.

Here’s your snippet from Red Rope of Fate. I hope you enjoy it!

Tari sipped her tea and shifted her eyes to the teapot as the translator droned on in human. Truth be told the tea was one of the main reasons she attended the meetings with the translators and enchanters—they had fantastic brews. There must be a way to ask for more without appearing rude.

Tari stared at the porcelain teapot until she was shocked out of her wits when Arion leaned forward from his position next to her on the settee. He plucked the teapot off the lacquer tray, refilled Tari’s cup, and replaced the teapot—earning a large smile from Tari.

Tari happily took another sip, looking up when the translator switched to elvish.

“—Cannot tell you how excited we are to have you two. We understand that a bond such as yours should not be abused, but we are hoping you will be willing to help us in the Translator’s Circle,” said an excited looking older man. His counterpart—a haunted looking scholar that had interviewed Tari and Arion for hours on end to search for any sort of connection between them—vacantly stared at the wall.

An elf translator stood behind the pair, nodding in agreement as he fussed with his hair.

“What would you ask us to do?” Arion asked, narrowing his eyes.

Tari turned to her small plate of cookies as the translator switched back to human for Arion’s sake. She selected a lemon tart and transferred it to Arion’s empty plate before consuming a sinfully rich chocolate truffle.

Arion ate the lemon tart as he listened to the translator, his expressionless face giving nothing away. When the translator finished, Arion looked to Tari. The translator opened his mouth to restart the lecture in elvish, but Arion beat him to the punch. “They want us to spend a day a week discussing topics picked out for us by the head of the Translator’s Circle and our monarchs.”

“That sounds an awful lot like a social engagement.”

“Agreed.”

“Tell them we’re too busy,” Tari suggested.

“Good idea.”

Reminders

Today is last day you can download My Life at the Magical Beings’ Rehabilitation Center for free, so get it while you can!

Additionally, today is  the last day I’m accepting questions for Story Time: Episode 2. If you have any questions you want me to answer,  fill out the form below and I’ll address it in this upcoming episode. Episode 2 is scheduled to be available this Friday, March 29.

I must admit, I’m surprised at my poll results. It seems that no one minds reading a young adult book. You guys can keep voting on it, I will be applying the results as it will do me no good to write a  book no one wants to read. Personally, I enjoy reading young adult fiction as well, so I shouldn’t be that surprised. I do feel like something of a creeper, though, when I lurk in the YA section of the library, sniffing out something to read.

Thanks for reading champions, and please submit your questions!

Today’s Freebie: My Life at the MBRC

The title says it all, today’s freebie is My Life at the Magical Beings’ Rehabilitation Center! I didn’t get a chance to do an in depth proof read, but I did get to go back and reformat it so it looks prettier. Also I’m posting an obligatory reminder that I’m accepting questions for my next session of Story Time! To send me a question just fill out the form on the bottom of the FAQ page.

Alright, my Champions. I have a question to ask of you. The next book I intend to release on the Kindle is an adult romance book. I do have a couple of finished books sitting on my computer, but they’re young adult. The heroines are typically 16-years-old. So my question to you is: would you be interested in reading a young adult book, only adult, or both? Please vote in the poll!

Because I’m fickle

Today marks the third day of the week of freebies, and the second day that Robyn Hood:Fight For Freedom is available for free. Originally it was supposed to be the last day, BUT I’m going to extend the special through tomorrow. This means that I’m pushing My Life At the MBRC back a day as well, so it will be available for free from Friday through Sunday.

Also remember, I’m accepting questions  to answer for my next session of Story Time! To submit a question fill out the form on the FAQ page. Feel free to ask me any writing question, or pretty much any question at all. I can be your personal magic eight ball if you like. (Although chances are my replies will be a lot more colorful than “Yes,” “No,” and “Ask again later.”)

Finally, I want extra points from you guys. My new book that I’m releasing in April (Titled Red Rope of Fate or Captain Emotionally Constipated, I cannot decided between the two.) I’ve been working hard on. When you guys read it you to pay special attention to the drinks. I’ve been experimenting with everything from brewing sweet teas to coffee to make the food settings pop. I’m pretty sure my teeth are rotting in my mouth, and my dentist would like to write you all a hate note, but it has been a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share some of the recipes for the drinks I’ve slipped in the book. Thanks for reading!

Week of Freebies Kick Off

Good day to you Champions! Today marks the start of the Week of Freebies! In case you haven’t heard, here’s a quick breakdown of the  freebies schedule: Robyn Hood:A Girl’s Tale is available for free for today only. Robyn Hood: Fight For Freedom is available now, but it will be available for free on Tuesday and Wednesday. My Life at the MBRC will be available for free on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!

Additionally, I’m announcing the next book I’ll be publishing  on the Kindle: Red Rope of Fate. (That title is temporary so don’t get too attached to it.)

As a citizen of Lessa one of the highest honors extended to an elf is to be bonded in friendship to a human of Calnor. It’s an ancient practice that started when the humans vowed to protect the elves, even though the two races are unable to communicate. Tari is thrilled when she is told she has been selected to be bound to a human, but she never expected her partner would be a male, or that they would be able to understand each other.

Red Rope is an adult fantasy romance novel. I hope to release it by the end of April. Other possible titles I am considering in lieu of Red Rope of Fate are:

Red Knot of Fate
Bonds of Fate
Captain Emotionally Constipated

If you feel strongly about the title please leave a comment. Thanks for reading!

Story Time Episode 2

Today I have a couple of news-y items to address. First off I have made the discovery that my inbox has been holding out on me and some of the messages you guys sent me were suspiciously routed to my spam folder. I think I fixed the problem, and I’m keeping an obsessive eye on my spam now, but I apologize to everyone who received delayed responses to their messages.

Secondly, today I’m announcing my second episode of Story Time! Story Time is when I answer pre-submitted questions while I attempt to play (But mostly die in) Lord of the Rings Online. The deadline for question submissions is Monday, March 24. Please submit your questions by then! I’m announcing it way ahead of time as I suspect things are going to get chaotic when I start the Week Of Freebies. To learn more about Story Time please visit the FAQ. If you have a question you want to submit please fill out the form at the bottom of this post!

Finally… I actually don’t have anything else. I wanted to end this post with a witty remark but my brain is remarkably dry of those these days. So sorry, but thank you for reading!

Week of Freebies

OK, provided Amazon comes through for me I have my schedule for my Week of Freebies AKA Welcome-Robyn-Hood-2-to-the-Internet-Week-of-Celebration.

Monday, March 18:

Robyn Hood: A Girl’s Tale available for free during this one day special. If you already have it this is your chance to spread the word and tell your friends about Robyn Hood so they can snag a free copy!
Robyn Hood: Fight For Freedom will be released and available for purchase, but….

Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday March 20:

Robyn Hood: Fight For Freedom will be available for free for this two day promotion

Thursday, March 21 through Saturday, March 23:

My Life at the Magical Beings’ Rehabilitation Center will be available for free in celebration of Fight For Freedom. The free version of My Life at the MBRC has been edited again for errors, and I did some formatting updates to it as well. If you already have it you might want to think about downloading it again just for the sake of owning a prettier copy.

Of course all of this is subject to change. Amazon follows its own timeline, not mine. Also I am a lazy busy person, so I might not be able to get everything uploaded on time. If anything changes I will be sure to post it here and on my twitter feed.

Thanks for reading today’s update!

Cover Peek: Fight For Freedom

Good day to you Champions! Here’s a sneak peek at the cover of the second (and final) Robyn Hood book, Robyn Hood: Fight For Freedom.

Robyn-Hood-Cover2

I’m hoping to release Robyn Hood: Fight For Freedom by Monday, March 18,  but exact release dates can be a little sketchy when publishing on the Kindle as the review process can be longer than I plan for. Because I love you all very much I am planning for some book giveaways! I don’t have the exact dates hashed out yet, but if you check back on Wednesday I’ll be posting the release schedule then.
