REFLECTION Playlist

As the release date for Reaction (November 5) gets closer, I thought it would be fun to share the playlist for Reflection!  I love music, especially the chill, urban vintage, instrumental-ish kind that fits well with this series.  Thanks to Christy's Love of Books Blog for letting me copy her idea of adding music videos to the post.  ENJOY!!

Reflection Playlist
1.     Let That Be Enough by Switchfoot  (Creed . . .)
2.     Whole Wide World by Mindy Gledhill  (Heather leaving home for college)
3.     On My Mind by Kalai  (The song Nick sings and plays on guitar in class)
4.     Fallin for You by Colbie Caillat  (Heather’s perfect summer semester)
5.     True by Ryan Cabrera  (Heather and Nick’s growing relationship)
6.     I’m Yours by Jason Mraz  (The California trip - not spot on, but the lighthearted sincerity of the song evokes similar emotions.  And besides, I love Jason Mraz.)
7.     Closer by Joshua Radin  (The night of the phone call, moments before the accident)

8.     September by Daughtry  (Waking from the coma)

Cover Reveal: REACTION

I'm very excited to reveal the cover of Reaction, Book 2 in the Reflection series!

Synopsis:

Harmony…

I’ve previously had that in my life, but only once, briefly, a while ago.  It was during the time I’d started my first year of college.  My own apartment, a new old car, and a life free of deadbeat stepfathers, all of which was fulfilling enough.  But if it wasn’t, I also had a best friend, soul mate, and boyfriend all in one.  Yes, life was near perfect.
But one stormy night can change everything…
For many months I rested in a prolonged sleep, fighting for my life.  Well, more than fightingfor it, also dreaming of it.  Dreaming of him.  Thank goodness, the dream is over and I’m back in the real world now.  And all I want is for everything to return to the way it was.  But nothing’s the same; most of all, us.
Once again, I find myself at the crossroads of a ruthless battle, this time not for life, but love.  Do I fight for the guy I twice fell for, or do I let her take him away?

Reflection Blog Tour and More!

The blog tour for Reflection is kicking off this Monday and will last through Saturday!
Out of the three books I’ve written, I’m most excited about Reflection.  Possibly because it’s one of few books out there that target the New Adult audience.
New Adult is a crossover category from young adulthood into adulthood, targeting a college aged audience but proving an appeal to both young and old alike.
And why not?  Arguably, those college years are the most thrilling, independent, self-seeking, and decadent years of a person’s life.  Summed up best by the lyrics of a Wade Hayes country song, “I’m old enough to know better but I’m still too young to care.”  As a teen, it’s exactly what I wanted to read about.  And as an adult, it really hasn’t changed that much; the magic of those years still resonates in me.  Perhaps that’s why I chose to write within this new genre.
My debut full-length novel, Reflection, is a New Adult romance about a bright, spunky high school grad who leaves her rocky childhood and small hometown behind, and ventures off to college.  True to the genre, Reflection is more than teen fluff yet fresher than the heavy, adult stuff.  It’s a book about growing pains and growing up, living and surviving, dreaming and fulfilling one’s dreams.
A blog tour is a great way to introduce this stirring new category in books, and I hope you will follow mine.

Coma News

I've been asked a lot of questions about the research I've done for Reflection with regard to comas.  I thought this was an interesting article/clip from AOL News Homepage about a 6-year-old girl who got into a car accident and fell into a month-long coma.

But seriously, this is an awesome opportunity!  Thanks to Greg and the EreaderNewsToday.com staff for making it possible for me and fellow authors to connect with ebook readers all over the world!
