WEEKEND WRITING WARRIORS #78

Now I know the Groundhog day phenomenon is real. We are repeating 2020!

Having said that, my husband and I are actually quite lucky in the fact we are both retired, so we don't have to be 'out' there unless we need and/or want to. On the first of January, I did all my shopping for three months - the butcher just about had a fit because I bought over 25 pounds of lean ground and loads of chicken, stewing beef, and a couple of roasts. I have a vacuum sealer and I portion out the food and then freez...

Today, I welcome Sofi Laporte to my Friday with Friends post.

About the Book:

A spirited young lady with a dream. A duke in disguise. A compromising situation.

Lucy hates Dukes.

One in particular: her best friend’s brother, the arrogant Duke of Ashmore. A man she’s never met. Because of him, she’s lost the only home she’s ever known.

She can’t forgive him. Ever.

Lucy loves gardeners.

One in particular: the charming Henry whose eyes shine in a million colours of blue. How lovely would life be if she wer...

THURSDAY THREE HUNDRED ~ MARY #6

Mary looked into the twinkling eyes of Elizabeth. She gave her a quick hug, noticing almost immediately her slightly rounded belly.

“Are congratulations in order?” she asked in a low tone.

“Yes,” Lizzy whispered and turned slightly pink. “We’ve not told anyone yet. We wanted to wait until all the family had gathered.”

“Good plan. It’s always smart to save announcements such as these for when the family is around.” Mary almost laughed out loud at the expectation of Lizzy and Darcy’s reaction when ...

TIDBIT TUESDAY ~ PRIDE & PERCEPTION

Are you enjoying my book, Miss Elizabeth?

“It is amazing to me,” Mr. Bingley said with a fond look toward Jane, “how many ladies can have the patience to be so very accomplished as they all are.”

“All young ladies are accomplished! My dear Charles, whatever do you mean?” Miss Bingley asked. She did not hide the derisive glance she sent toward Elizabeth.

“Yes, all ladies. Why they paint tables, cover screens, and net purses. I scarcely know anyone who cannot do this.”

“Your list of the common ...

WEEKEND WRITING WARRIORS #77

Another weekend is upon us and sometimes I feel like I've got nothing done. Then Grammarly pops up in my email and tells me how many words I've written this week, and how many I've written since I've started using the program a little over four months ago. Can you believe I've written over 500K in words? (total - NOT this week) Why can't I do that in my manuscript??? Well - shrugging shoulders - now I know where my time has gone. lol

I'm continuing with my fun new project, Pride & Perception and...
