Vintage Sci-fi?

I’ve heard many people try to explain what steampunk and dieselpunk is and it is sometimes awkward to hear them struggle with their description. For me, I classify them as vintage science fiction. They are interpreted in  modern terms, but adhere to way those of the past viewed the future. With that in mind I wonder how long before we have jetpunk. That would be the post WWII to late fifties view of the future.  You’ve heard it here first.
