Drowning In Nightmare

The suffocating dark holds me tight,

Locked, in the arms of nightmare through the blackest of nights.

Sweating, unable to arise from my bed,

I lie, black imaginings running through my head.

A ghoul by the bookcase stands,

Intent on dragging me into death’s barren land.

What is that shadow on my bedroom door?

My dressing gown hanging or something more?

Venus In Furs

Venus in furs,

The populace stirs.

“How can a chap so plain,

One lacking a brain,

And so incredibly vane,

A goddess obtain?”

The people declaim.

The reprobate sighs,

“Tis money that buys,

The look of love in her eyes”.

Handbags And Shoes

Handbags and shoes,

herself she will lose,

for handbags and shoes.

Handbags and shoes,

the road she will choose,

drowning in booze,

for handbags and shoes.

How Amazon’s New Book Review Rules Impact Self-Published Writers

viaIB Times

Success, it’s been said, is all about who you know — just don’t get to know too many people unless you want the world’s largest online book publishing platform to penalize you for it.

Thousands of independent authors are asking Amazon.com Inc. to change a controversial policy that prohibits users from reviewing books written by people they personal...

Do Horror Writers Eat Babies – A Guest Post By Francis H Powell

Thank you to Francis H. Powell for the below guest post. You can find links to Francis’s sites at the end of his article.

Kevin

Do horror writers eat babies?

Mad eyes

What is your vision of a horror writer? Perhaps a rather aged looking man, with large piercing eyes, bushy eyebrows, their mere presence is likely to frighten away any children? He sits near a crackling fire, with dark thoughts running through his mind, with the sound of Carmina Burana, blaring away from a decrepit ancient gramophone. E...

Vampiress (Inspired By Reading Stoker’s Dracula)

https://audiobooks147ab.wordpress.com/2012/04/20/dracula-eroticism-blog-3/

I have known the darkest of nights,

Lost myself in sensuous delights.

I have felt the vampire’s fear,

Held her close and thought her dear.

I have seen her blood red lips,

Fought against her fatal kiss.

I have endured her fangs sharp,

as shards of glass within my heart.

I have watched the dawn come,

Perceived the vampiress turn and run.
