World Book and Copyright Day — and a Gift For My Readers
Hi, everyone. Today is World Book and Copyright Day, as designated by UNESCO. The date is symbolic: Shakespeare, Cervantes, and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died on April 23. The stated purpose of the event is to pay world-wide tribute to books and authors, and to encourage everyone to discover the joys of reading. The birds fail to drown out the thought

Its late.
The expensive balloon
Will soon

Is soon forgotten
And all

Fallen Fruit
Low-hanging fruit I recall.
I longed to taste,
For some say it is the route
To pleasure. yet
in my haste
To enjoy
I did forget
That the worm does destroy,
And the boy
Should not tempt the fruit to fall.
