There Was A Young Man From Eeling
There was a young man from Eeling
Who liked to dance on the ceiling.
His neighbour said,
“Your visits I dread
As you always dance on my ceiling!”.

There was a young man from Eeling
Who liked to dance on the ceiling.
The girl nextdoor
Said “I implore
You to come and dance on my ceiling!”.

Raining
Many thanks to Pax Et Dolor Magazine for publishing my poem “Raining”. Kevin
By:- Kevin Morris
I awoke to the rain
drumming on my window pane.
Opening my lattice I let it in
the purifying water that washes away sin.
The hypnotic sound
of rain falling all around.
All my life I have listened to the rain.
The same drumming
of water coming
from the sky
falling on you and I.
The rain has no end
But you and I my friend
may listen for a while
smile
then pass on by.
Note: The c...

There Was A Young Writer Called Barett
There was a young writer called Barett
Who had nought to eat but a carrot.
He said, to himself,
“I have little wealth
While my agent she drinks only claret!”

Book Review: “The Ocean’s Lullaby” By Victoria Zigler
This review is of “The Ocean’s Lullaby” by Victoria Zigler.
Disclaimer : I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
The Ocean’s Lullaby does, as the title suggests have a strong ocean theme. The poems in this collection range from the humorous to verses which bring a tear to the eye. Many of the poems are suitable for children, while others will be more readily appreciated by an adult audience.
One of the poems which particularly charmed me is “If I was A Mermaid” wh...
There Was A Young Man Called Hogg
There was a young man called Hogg
Who kept a very large dog.
When people asked “does it bite?”
He replied “he might,
But not if your name it is Hogg!”

There was a young man called Hogg
Who kept a very large dog.
They went out in the pitch black
And never came back.
I surmise they got lost in a bog.

They went out one night
And got quite a fright
From the crocodile disguised as a log …!

What is Poetry?
An interesting question. Where does poetry become poetic prose, and at what point is it simple prose rather than poetry or poetic prose? I dont have a hard and fast answer to this question. Much of my own poetry rhymes. However I dont believe poetry has to rhyme to be construed as such. Kevin
Sitting at a barbeque, at the weekend, a guest turned to me and said “I hear you’re a poet.”
A conversation ensued which led to me showing her the Inside the Mind of Davy D blo...

Fire
Many thanks to Pax Et Dolor Magazine for publishing my poem “Fire”. Kevin
By:- Kevin Morris
I have felt the fire’s power
It kindles brightly and sinks within the hour.
I have watched the embers dying fast
Looked into the future and gazed into the past
I have raked the ashes cold
Felt the bleakness in my soul

Night Duty; Guest post by Kevin Morris
Many thanks to Roberta for publishing my poem, “Night Duty” as a guest post on her website. Kevin
The click clack of stilettos.
Girls from ghettos
Feet are lost
In carpets they could never afford,
While a discreet board
Shows the cost
Of most things.
The lift bell pings.
What goes up must go down.
The receptionist, eyes lost in her book
Gives a slight frown.
Why bother to look?
For of course
A nod is as good as a wink
To a blind horse.
