There was a young man named Rory
Who was a one nation Tory.
A bust of Disraeli spoke
And told him a joke.
That drunken one nation Tory!

Benjamin Disraeli
I must confess to nurturing a soft spot for the novelist and politician Benjamin Disraeli https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Disraeli.
The second of the 2 quotes is, I believe correctly attributed to Disraeli. There is, however some dispute regarding the first, with some attributing it to Disraeli, while others attribute this witticism to Moses Hadas. I, personally like to think that Disraeli was responsible for both witticisms, although the consensus of opinion is in favour of Hadas as...

There was a young man named Baker

Who worked as an undertaker.
One day a corpse awoke

There was a young lady named Pam
There was a young lady named Pam
Who produced a good deal of spam.
She discovered too late
That her hot date
Was a blogger who’s name was Sam!
On seeing a happy couple
On seeing a happy couple, I smile
For there is no denial
That love
Is good.
Yet, after a while
I can not help but ponder on
How love is here, then gone.
Each joke
Which now produces laughter
May cause her to choke
On her anger in the end.
Or perhaps she will pretend
And maintain
A fixed smile to hide her disdain.
Coupledom is fun
Until her dress, thrown haphazard on the floor
Loses it’s alure
And his sweaty feet
Forever defeat
Passion’s heat.

A poem about my dog Trigger
One day, as I sat writing in my study, I became aware of my dog Trigger dreaming as he slept close by. This inspired my poem “Dog” https://newauthoronline.com/2017/02/26/kevin-morris-reading-his-poem-dog/
“Dog” can be found in my collection of poetry, “Refractions”, which is available in the Amazon Kindle store, https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01L5UC2H2
