I Know A Young Carpenter Named Mable

I know a young carpenter named Mable
Who is willing but not always able.
When she came round to mine,
We enjoyed lots of wine,
But she never started that table …

The Weather Is Unsettled

The weather is unsettled,
Free. And me?

Through the Looking Glass

Through the Looking glass
We pass
And find
The White Knight
With a mind
Full of madcap schemes
And unhinged dreams.

There the Red and the White Queen
Rule over fools
As mad as the Hatter in Wonderland.
Will Alice take command
Of all, and pass
Back through this cracked looking glass?

When A Young Lady In A Bonnet

When a young lady in a bonnet

Composed a very fine sonnet,

And they said, “that doesn’t quite rhyme”,

She replied, “that is no crime”,

Then left to change her bonnet!

When a young lady in a bonnet

Composed a very fine sonnet,

And they said, “that doesn’t quite rhyme”,

She replied, “now I have the time,

I shall be right back on it!”.

There Once Was A Man Named Dan

There once was a man named Dan
Who loved a girl called Ann,
But Ann loved Bill
(Who was with Jill),
And Jill, she fell for Dan!

‘Tis The Quiet Time

‘Tis the quiet time
Before the sun
Does come.
I shall rhyme
Ere the day is done
And I become,
As one with the setting sun

When A Young Man Whose Name Was Max

When a young man whose name was Max
Remarked, “Britannica Pax”,
And they said, with a sigh,
“You foolish young guy”!,
He told them all to relax!

When a young man named Max
Remarked, “Britannica Pax”,
A man called Purse
Said, “It doesn’t work as verse,
But it should be Pax Britannica!”.

Note: (“Pax Britannica” is latin for “British Peace”).

When On My Way

When on my way
Through the churchyard today
I nearly fell,
I knew well
That one day,
There I will stay
