The Sun’s Light Ends in Night

The sun’s light
Ends in night.
But when I express
It this way
Some will say
That I obsess
With death.
Yet one may
Take delight
In a summer’s day,
But not fight
The inevitable night.

The Poet in his Dressing Gown

Where you to see

I don’t know about his morality.
There are no young women
Hanging from the chandelier,
And no other signs of sinning
That I can see.
How very drear
As I thought there would be!
But, oh gosh,

A Dentist whose Name is Ray

A dentist whose name is Ray
Said, “you have tooth decay”.
He took out a sledge hammer
And a very large spanner,
And I turned, and ran away!

When A Young Lady Wearing No Pyjamas

When a young lady wearing no pyjamas
Said, “I come from the sunny Bahamas.
My name it is Claire,
And I’ll take you there”.
I said, “But what about the Bahamas?”.

Half-Remembered Faces

Half-remembered faces,
Some forgotten,
Lost at the bottom
Of his mind.

Some were graces
And left
Traces
Behind.

He fancied himself bereft
But his heart
was never cleft.
Although,a few do,
Its true,
Live on,in art.

A Young Lady with Looks Most Glorious

A young lady with looks most glorious
Said, “I like it fast and furious!”,
So we went on the Big Dipper
Where she revealed herself as a stripper,
Which the judge he found quite curious!

A Young Lady Named White

A young lady named White
Enters my bedroom every night,
In a state of undress,
And my prudish wife Bess,
Always turns out the light!

Stream of Consciousness

An interesting post, on the site Interesting Literature, regarding “Stream of Consciousness”. The article defines “Stream of Consciousness” as follows:

“Put simply, ‘stream of consciousness’ describes a literary style in which the various thoughts and impressions of a character are relayed
to us in a way that captures the suddenness, spontaneity, and often inconsequentiality of those thoughts and impressions. Usually, the syntax will reflect
this, and it will either break down into...
