There Once Was a Policeman Named Warner
There once was a policeman named Warner
Who raided a rather famous old sauna.
He found Miss Hocking
Without shoe or stocking.
And a politician discussing politics with Lorna …
The Romance of Candlelight
As I composed poetry by romantic candlelight
There appeared a young lady in white.
Her name was Miss Moriah,
And she had a desire.
But my desire it was to write!
Shadow
A shadow followed me
From tree to tree
As I did pass
Along the woodland path.
I paused to hear
The sweet birds sing.
And thought of spring
And the passing year.
Although I forgot my shadow,
My shadow did not go.
For our sweet birdsong
Does not last long.

Moral Coral
I know a young lady named Coral
Who is so very stern and moral.
But, if men be rich
She removes every single stitch.
I wonder, is Coral really that moral?
World Poetry Day 2021
The Underwater World
As I gently shut my eyesI start recalling the day
The summery tropical afternoon
I spent snorkeling by the bay
The fresh turquoise water
Touches against my face
And right underneath me
Unravels a captivating place
Shoals of vibrant fish
Swimming all around
In every possible color
Yellow, red, or brown
An underwater paradise
Formed by exotic coral reefs
Large living and breathing structures
Home to a plethora of beings
A world of unknown
I gaze at the ocean floor
An aesthetic scenery...

Spa Wood
My friend, Henry took the below photograph in Spa Wood, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spa_Wood on 18 March.
The wood, which is only a few minutes walk from my home, has inspired many of my poems, including this one entitled “Rain”:
“The Rain
Patters amongst these leaves.
I listen again
And ascertain
That it’s the breeze
Midst these trees.
Yet it sounds the same
As rain.”
I was reminded of the above poem as the rain was (actually) falling as Henry and I strolled through Spa Wood.
(“Rain” can be ...

MI5
A young lady who did earnestly strive
To be watched by Great Britain’s MI5,
Climbed a very high tower
Wearing naught but a flower,
Whilst watched by a guy from MI5!
Whisky and Gin
A gorgeous young lady named Lin
Plied me with whisky and gin.
Then, along with Miss Rose
We took off our clothes ..
I blame the whisky and gin!

The Movies
A young lady whose name is Lou
Makes her money from movies most blue.
But she’s not as shocking
As that naughty Miss Hocking.
And I really must return Lou’s shoe!
