Hey guys, it’s Isaac here, and today I’m going to give you my review of Alif the Unseen, one of my top 10 fantasy novel picks for 2012.
So. Wow. What a mix – this book throws so many elements together that it’s a challenge to pick them back apart. Technology and modernism meet antiquity and spirituality. Throw some old-fashioned politics and religion in for good-measure, and you have Alif the Unseen.

The Million Dollar Bookshop
Mark Lawrence, author of the Broken Empire trilogy, has set up a promotional site called The Million Dollar Bookshop for authors to advertise their books. The concept is similar to the Million Dollar Homepage from a few years back, with authors buying space on the page at the pixel level. All proceeds from the Bookshop go toward charity.

Worldbuilders Fundraiser – For Fantasy Readers And Writers
The annual Worldbuilders fundraiser is well underway. If you don’t know about Worldbuilders, it’s this cool little fundraiser put together by Patrick Rothfuss–himself a very cool fantasy author–to help people less fortunate than ourselves.
