Why Grace Helbig is the #YouDoYou Master of 2016

simonschusterca:

imageYouTube celebrity Grace Helbig is at it again with her second book, Grace & Style: The Art of Pretending You Have It. This entire book encompasses our mantra of 2016: #Youdoyou! We’ve compiled 4 of our favourite parts of Grace’s book to inspire you let go, be yourself and do you in the best and easiest way possible:

“Let’s dive into what I’ve come to acknowledge as one of the most hilarious subject matters in our society: beauty and style.”

1. Her list of favourite things. If you think this list will be packed with Sephora’s latest “shea butter apple crumble behind your ears face scrub” then you are so wrong. Just to give you an idea:
“#8: Favorite Lip Product: the grease left over from breakfast meats.”

2. The Sweatpants Diaries. Grace has included diary entries from the perspective of personified sweatpants. Yes, you read that right. Not only are these entries hilarious but they make you really feel the struggle sweatpants have had to go through over the course of fashion.
“But I’m athletic wear, too, I just thought—” Before I could finish the sentence, Nike running shoes cut me off and said “Correction, you’re pathetic wear.”

3. Lipstick descriptions. Grace says everything we’re thinking about the million different colours of lipstick you have considered trying on a daily basis. Sorry, department store beauty consultant, but blue is not in fact a work appropriate shade.
“Bold Red: I’m confident, I think. Please don’t ask me to eat or drink anything that can’t be sucked through a straw. I love Taylor Swift, but I also loathe Taylor Swift. She’s not that great, you guys.”

4. Bad hair day potential personalities. Grace shows you how to werk that “it’s been 4 days and I should have showered this morning but instead I decided to sleep in and continue my inappropriate dream about Thor” look by giving you a number of personas to adopt, tricking people into thinking this was your plan all along.
“Animal from the Muppets: You let it all hang out. Your sloppy, floppy style paired with your own lack of embarrassment about it is appealing. HOW-TO: Spray your hair with dry shampoo or texturizing spray; do nothing.”

You can pick up a copy of Grace & Style on February 2nd. Find out more about the book here! And remember, #youdoyou this new year!
