I’m going to comment on this...

i-can-always-change-this-later:

I’m going to comment on this moment here.

This is all my opinion so feel free to make fart noises with your mouth as you scroll past if you disagree/are tired of seeing all these posts.

Apparently a lot of people missed this moment here. The whole commentary goes as follows:

"You should want to be a good person because you want to be a good person; not because some fictitious man decides if you are good and deserving of something"

In my opinion that is a great way to live your life. Being good because you don’t want to hurt others as opposed to being good because you don’t want to hurt your own chances of getting rewards. “Rewards” in this case meaning both any sort of afterlife as well as presents from “Santa”.

I believe this mentality is good because I’ve seen how the “deserving” mentality can go bad. My mother is a preschool teacher and occasionally I will help her, and every so often there is one kid who believes that he should be rewarded for every little good thing he does. And if he doesn’t get that reward, he throws a fit and does the opposite of what good he did (for example, he put the toys away, but then throws them everywhere in a tantrum). Even my mom who has been teaching for 20+ years says that kids are slowly becoming more and more entitled (in a bad way).

Anyway, to summarize:

It’s her opinion
Her opinion is actually good advice.
Children…eww.

Also, Grace is an overall good and wonderful human. Don’t judge her on her religious beliefs and her ability to compare a deity and santa for the purpose of a comedic video and a book plug.

We sat Lucy down and told her the truth about Santa using the latest gracehelbig video. Needless to say she was disappointed but she understood.
