Thank you all for the wonderful feedback on the story and how things are going. I am so glad you all are enjoying the stories.

This week, there is more Favored. Again, if you’re looking for Faith, it’ll come back soon. I’ll be getting LCR in the editing pipeline at some point. I usually just do the extra As I Write stuff over the weekend, but with working hard on LCR at the moment, time has been getting tight on the weekends, too.

UPDATE FROM ME – New Year, New Things!

Hello everyone!

I’m getting back into the swing of things, and with it another edition of As I Write. I hope the weekly releases will continue. For now, just an update from Favored and I hope to have more in the future. Not much else to report, working on LCR and a few other projects coming out soon.

UPDATE FROM ME – Christmas, Travel, Pause

Christmas is so close! And also, I didn’t schedule enough time between travel, holiday and Christmas.

Because of the scheduling conflict, I’ll be putting the newsletter on pause until January.

We should be back on track in Jan., with hopefully much more to come in the new year.

Thanks so much for sticking with me, and I really hope you enjoy the story updates and are able to take time for yourself and loved ones.

UPDATE FROM ME

We’re getting closer to Christmas and New Year and I’m absolutely loving this time of year with all the decorations and the movies coming out. (looking forward to seeing Coco and the new Jurrasic movie!)

I have to admit, I’m having a bit of trouble with being comfortable sharing more of Faith at the moment. I think part of it is I’m working on some things that are coming up in the next few chapters, so I’ve been hem-hawing at what I should do in the plot. I don’t know how many of you know that I tend to be a pantser (writing without an outline), as I write. I usually have an idea in general, like a daydream type of thing. A lot of the time I know where I’m going, it is how to get there that slows me down sometimes.

But it may be I put it aside for a bit and work out the next few chapters to make sure I’m pretty happy with the story part. Because of that, I’ve got more Favored. For those who were looking for Faith, I’m tinkering with it. It’s a process. I may try to write ahead of myself a bit so I’m not leaving so many weeks without an update. Or we may try the one at a time thing. I’m not sure yet. Still playing with ideas.

Just in case you all wanted to know where I was with Academy stuff or anything like that.

As far as a Christmas schedule, what may happen is that over the next three weeks, I may upload just Favored to keep it pretty simple, and either resume Faith after the holidays are over or finish out Favored and then start Faith back up.

December Updates: My Writing Schedule

Hi everyone!

It’s been a few weeks since the last update, but I got a few concerned messages from people noticing me writing the As I Write stuff vs. me (I think) talking about writing Academy. I think some readers had concerns thinking I’m not writing Academy things.

I can say this is very, very far from the case, and those who read this blog and keep up with the newsletter already probably know. But I did want to update that, as I know a lot of people are curious.

Obviously, I am still writing Academy. Like noted in the last update in mid-November, this month is no different. When will I be finished writing the first draft? I don’t know. I just know how many scenes I need to write in until the end, but scenes don’t have a set amount of words before I write them. I just let them flow out naturally and it ends when it should end naturally.

And when I get close to the end of the first draft (like I sort of am getting to now), I tend to do slow down a bit, checking previous chapters, revising a bit here and there as I figure out the ending and how to put the pieces together.

All that said, I tend to tread the work like a normal job. Every weekday, I’m typing.

For some reason, I got really into the revision of Favored this week. So today there’s a huge portion to Favored and I’ve totally neglected Faith. Sometimes you just have to move where the mood takes you.

It’s probably because we are getting into the good parts of Favored.

New Features, New Options – As I Write

As you can see, I’m making a few changes to As I Write.

I heard from readers who were having trouble getting the newsletter delivered.

I heard you, and I’m doing what I can to see if you can get notifications another way. Part of it was moving the content of the newsletter to this website.

I’m going to be doing some updates here. In the next couple of weeks, I’m developing a way to send push notifications to your phones or browsers, so you’ll get updates that way. They are generally more reliable. To make it work, it is just easier to put updates here on the site.

The newsletter will still be in operation, mostly as an optional notification method. It’ll simply remind you to check here in the future. You can stay subscribed if you’re happy with getting the newsletter, and it will link you to this blog. (stops me from doubling up on work :))

I’ll also keep adding previous download links here on this blog as well. If you ever miss a week, you can now just check the latest edition, and you’ll see links below.

That said, as this week is Thanksgiving in America, I’m going to put off the next newsletter for one week. Look for it to restart the week of the 4th in December. If you’re part of this tradition, have a happy Thanksgiving, and for those who are not, much love to you and have a great weekend.

This is just a quick update to say a very, very big thank you for the launch of As I Write.

I wasn’t really sure how many people would be interested in rough draft chapters of books as I’m writing them, but it turns out, over two thousand of you are.

November Begins – Serious Book Talk :)

We’re getting to November! Silas has been out for a bit. I’m currently working on Love’s Cruel Redemption full on. During my off time, I’ve got a few new stories I’m revising/working on. I hope people will enjoy them while I’m writing on LCR.

I’ve had a few concerning comments that keep coming up, so I thought I’d address a few of them here instead. If you see these comments anywhere, please post this link.
