Predrag Piper is a Serbian Slavicist. He was born in 1950 in Belgrade. He went to primary school there, as well as in Sremska Kamenica. He graduated from Novi Sad High School in 1968, and in 1973 he finished his studies of both Russian and Serbian languages and literatures at the University of Novi Sad (its Faculty of Philosophy). He taught at major universities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Ivanovo, Zadar, Seoul, Niš and Ljubljana. He speaks many languages (mainly the Slavic ones): Serbian, Russian, Polish, Slovene, Macedonian. He is a professor at the Philological Faculty of the University of Belgrade now and teaches introduction to Slavonic studies.
