Insane Fears Spoken Aloud
I'm currently finishing up my first draft of my second novel. The first one was self published originally, so no big deal...I'll get to it when I get to it! The second one, not so much. It frightens me not because I don't enjoy writing and want to do it all the time, but I worry sometimes that my creativity is dampened by the feeling that I have this giant clock over my head.
And that is just one of the fears...
There's also the fear that I'm writing a sequel that will be considered a giant piece of crap, and that everyone will assume that I was a one trick pony with one good idea and now I should just go back into my hole and never emerge again.
Is this normal?
How about the fear that when it goes live on Amazon absolutely NOBODY, not even my friends or my parents will buy a copy.
Or that the whole writing process, which for me includes a certain amount of copious amounts of coffee, nervous eating and chain smoking will render me with a lovely writing career but will leave me to die alone with my splenda-induced osteoporosis, lung cancer, and morbid obesity.
That can't be normal.
Then of course, after I die getting to the pearly gates only to find out that God indeed does not have a sense of humor and finds me presumptuous and impertinent and casts me into Hell for REALS.
I am insane.
Help?

I really enjoyed this book. As some of the reviews mention, there is a bit of "colorful language" used throughout the book, but I for one am so glad that Helen Downing is not afraid of language! The way Louise speaks her mind makes her relatable and really draws you into her personal journey. I laughed at the wonderful and wacky things she encountered in Hell and cried through the ending. I didn't find it "preachy" at all, and quite the opposite rather, I found it profound in a new way to think about the afterlife. Looking forward to reading more by this author
