Author spotlight – L.B. Simmons

This week I am pleased to tell you about the talented L.B. Simmons.  Her debut novel was released January 4th and is getting fabulous reviews.  If you’re looking for a funny, emotional read with a hot guy on a motorcycle…you’ve found it!

16151293

Running on Empty

I had the perfect life.

Beautiful and loving husband. Three gorgeous little girls. Successful career.

The only thing missing was the white picket fence. I really wanted that fence.

Three years ago, I lost that life. I lost my husband. And I lost myself. But, eventually, I found my way through the darkness. I’ve made peace with my new life. I have my girls, and that’s all that matters. They are my world. I have no illusions of ever falling in love again or getting whisked away on a white horse.

But then he came back into my life. On a freakin’ motorcycle.

There’s no way I’ll let him turn my life completely upside down. Absolutely no way.

The question is…

How long can I keep pretending that I’m happy with my life being right-side up?

When Piper Reynolds comes face to face with Pip, a woman that looks identical to her from a parallel reality, she discovers that their bond draws them together in times of need. Piper is the first to “jump” into Pip’s world and finds that although many aspects appear the same, small choices have made their realities much different. At first the problems are small and the trips short, but soon both women are going to find their worlds have turned upside down, and they will need each other more than they ever could have realized.

In Pip’s universe she is stalked by a man who won’t stop until she is dead. In the meantime Piper discovers that her son will die unless someone can donate to him life-saving bone marrow.

It isn’t long before both women realize that each other is the key to their survival but can they jump for long enough to help? Or will their jumps put them in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Kate is currently working on the second novel in The Silver Oaks Series, Hiding in Plain Sight.  It is set to be published on April 15.  Be sure to add it to your “to be read” list on Goodreads.16150824

He’s a hard working DEA agent but he has a secret that he’s been keeping his whole life — he can jump to a parallel universe. It’s on one of these jumps that he faces an impossible dilemma. Will he make it in time to save his half sister from the wrath of a mad man? Will Graham be able to deal with the consequences of his actions?

Lily Bennett is the girl next door that Graham remembers as the shy, quiet childhood friend. All grown up, Lily is now a powerful CFO of her family’s business. Graham saved Lily once when they were children but now Lily may be the only one who can save Graham from his past. Will she be able to pull him out of his darkness and back to her or will he be forever hiding in plain sight?

Author Spotlight – Melissa Brown

This week I have one author with two books in the spotlight.  Melissa Brown’s latest release is Champagne Toast.

16150628

Kate Armour and Evan Maxwell fell hard and fast for each other while attending college. Their once passionate and loving relationship ended when old scars eventually tore them apart. Two years after their breakup, they’re each struggling to piece together what went wrong in an attempt to move forward.

Kate, a no-nonsense bartender, must face her past while attempting to focus on her future.

Evan is stifled by his bitter heart, which threatens each and every relationship he attempts after walking away from Kate.

Will life offer them a second chance at love or are old patterns simply too hard to break?

Also Melissa’s first novel, Bouquet Toss, is currently 99 pennies on Amazon.

15791635

Ever since Daphne Harper graduated from college, all of her friends have fallen in love, become engaged and walked down the aisle. Be it a blessing or a curse, Daphne (a hopeless romantic and perpetual single girl) catches the bouquet at every single wedding she attends.

Daphne’s love life is a mess. Her first love, Mayson, haunts her heart and keeps her from pursuing happiness with any man who comes along. As she struggles to move on from the one who got away, Daphne wonders if she will ever break her curse and find her happily ever after.

Be sure and check them both out!!!

Author Spotlight – Disastrous by E.L. Montes

dis

Disastrous is currently $.99 on Amazon.

After struggling with the loss of yet another person so dear to her heart, Mia Sullivan channeled her frustration and loneliness into focusing on her future career. At the top of her class at Harvard Law, she was nervous and excited when given the opportunity to work as a summer extern at one of the top firms in Boston. Her new boss was the young, extraordinarily handsome, and successful Marcus DeLuca. As she falls for his charms, she discovers he is keeping something from her.

Marcus DeLuca was living two separate lives: one that involved his successful career and the other that could potentially ruin his entire reputation. His secret could jeopardize not only his life but everyone he loves. There was no room in his life for a serious romantic relationship, but after meeting Mia, he makes room. He cannot resist her. She is innocent, humble, and pure—the total opposite of him. She distracts him from all of his deep dark secrets. He knows once Mia finds out the things he has done and who he truly is, she will never want to look at him again. Deep down he knows he must stay away, but he can’t.

Mia and Marcus are heading down a path of love, lies, heartbreak, and betrayal. Can their love conquer all, or will the web of deceit be too much to overcome?

ELA little about the author…

I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with my husband, Alex, of four amazing years! We’ve been together since I was 16 years old and 10 years later he still gets on my nerves, but I wouldn’t take him any other way ;) We have a 2 year old English bulldog name Butters! (Yes he was named after South Park!) He’s our only child for now…we spoil him rotten.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies. I work full-time

as a paralegal for a mid-size law firm. I always loved the legal field and found it to be very interesting. I more so “secretly” loved to write. It was a hidden secret from so many people until now. Only a hand-full of people knew it was my passion. Disastrous is my debut novel.

I’m a hopeless romantic, so I dream and breathe romance movies, books and of course writing it!

Planning on Forever is currently $.99 on Amazon.

A peek at the author:

Some may consider me a jack of all trades, but I consider myself well rounded. I’ve waitressed, styled hair, answered phones and, most recently, worked full time as mom to my two beautiful little boys. Then there was this book… Everyone and their brother started talking about this book series titled Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James. I didn’t really pay attention to the craze at first, since I wasn’t a big reader- okay, I didn’t read at all. But curiosity got the best of me, so I downloaded it to my kindle. I was immediately hooked. I read the whole series in three days. Yes, three books in three days. I kept finding all these great books that I HAD to read (just ask my credit card!). Then I started hearing voices. Voices that turned into stories; stories that were begging to get out of my head. I started writing them down on scraps of paper. Then I transferred them to my computer. Before I knew it, Planning on Forever was born. The voices in my head are still talking, so I’m still writing
