"Starvation Cay" Uncaged!

"Starvation Cay" is officially released! It's a fast-paced adventure-thriller that takes place almost entirely in the Bahamas Out Islands; making it a perfect beach read. But don't take my word for it--read it--at $2.99 you can hardly go wrong. It's available on Kindle Direct and awaiting your download. And please, if you like it as much as I think you will, please review it on Goodreads and Amazon. Thanks and enjoy! Below is a convenient link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UM53K6E

Starvation Cay

I'm very pleased to announce that I have a new book coming out on April 24th. It's titled "Starvation Cay", and I think fans of adventure-thrillers will enjoy it immensely. It falls within the tradition of such novels as "Lord Jim" and "The Pirate's Daughter", and features an unusual hero in the character of Brendan Athy, a young Irish-American gangster on the run from the law while searching for his missing sister among the Out Islands of the Bahamas. Brendan's journey, with a Haitian smuggler as his guide, brings the men into conflict with a kaleidoscope of shady characters ranging from drug runners to serial murderers. But the answers he seeks can only be found on Starvation Cay, an ominous deserted island, where hearts are broken and bones left to bleach in the hot Bahamian sun.

"Starvation Cay" is available for pre-order now at Amazon Books. I hope that you'll give it a read.

The Purple Robe

It was a number of years ago that I began "The Purple Robe", and seeing it published brings an emotion that is not easily described. It's not the first book or story that I've had published, but it is unquestionably (in my mind, at least) my best effort. I may never do better than this.

"The Purple Robe" is a difficult novel to pigeonhole. It would be easy to say that it's "Catholic fiction" and leave it at that. But, it is readily accessible to non-Catholics, non-Christians; atheists too, I think, because it is a very human story, even as its characters struggle with issues of faith and the supernatural. You need not "believe" to empathize with the people contained within these pages. I think you may even recognize a few if only through a glass darkly.

Father Pablo's journey through the jungles of the Yucatan to discover the truth of the miraculous Purple Robe, is every person's fearful quest for something greater than their own fragile lives and unquenchable egos. You don't have to be Catholic to embark on this trek with my fumbling, imperfect little priest...you have only to be human.

I hope you enjoy the book.
