A Night Alone by Elly Green
A Night Alone
Elly Green continues to impress me with her erotic take on Greek mythology. She has already written six other short erotic stories altogether, and this is lucky number 7, and it really works well.
She takes on the Greek myth of Creation, focusing on Erebus and Nyx, although we do have a few other players in this tale (Chaos, Erebus) and like with the rest of her stories, 'A Night Alone' is sensual and erotic. I would have to say that out of the seven stories I've read, this one is one of my favorites (alone with the Selene/Endymion one) I recommend you check it out.

Interludes in Myth
Working on Hades' story still. My next book is still slated to be out before the end of this year, provided that things go along swimmingly and my muse cooperates with me!
It really is fun writing Hades' story and coming up with various scenes to explore his character as well as the Titanomachy and some more of some of the gods you already saw in Seeds. There will be a few surprises in this story.

Erato's Musings
Recently, I have been given the chance to read the Erato's Musings series by author Elly Green.
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Like me, she writes stories based off Greek mythology, and I have read the entire series so far, and really enjoy them. So far she has written a book of 4 collected stories, and two separate short stories. All of them can be found on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Elly-Green/e/B0...
I do need to warn, that these stories are written as erotica, and definitely not recommended for children... but I still highly recommend them!!! Ms. Green obviously has done her research here, and touches on lesser-known Greek myths in her collection. The backstories are interesting, and the sex scenes are rich and varied, so you don't feel like you're reading the same story over and over when you move from one story to another. If you enjoy an adult take on Greek mythology, you will not be disappointed!

Hades' Story
I am pleased to report that I have passed my halfway goal for 'Prelude to Darkness', Hades' story (title is subject to change, haha) and it is going along better than I expected. It is so much fun to explore Hades' past and figure out how he became the man he is in 'Seeds' as well as explore certain aspects of the Titanomachy.
The story is told almost exclusively from Hades' POV, with an occasional break to other characters. I've already written Ouranos' POV (each character other than Hades gets one chapter) and it was really interesting to write, given what happens to him in Seeds. I had to think of how he started out, and what happened between him and Gaea and his children. It's a interesting challenge to tell this story from a character format that is different than Seeds, yet I see its advantages.
I'm really pleased with what I have done so far (and I hope you will be pleased with the end product!!!) and hope to complete the story by this summer, and have it out in publication by the end of this year.

A Fun Announcement
For a while now, I have been working on a fun project. I didn't want to say anything about it at first because I wanted to make sure that it was solid, so to speak, instead of just a idea.
The project is now underway, with a good part of it written. I've always wanted to write more about Hades, but had no sequel planned for Seeds because I didn't want to mess around with a story that I consider complete.
Regardless of that, I still wanted to write more about Hades. He is such a formidable character, that I wanted to explore some more of that.
I am pleased to announce the (tentatively titled, subject to change) story Prelude to Darkness, which acts as a prequel to Seeds of sorts, and is all about Hades and how he became King of the Underworld. Though it happens in the same world as Seeds, it focuses entirely on Hades.
If you've read Seeds, you will be familiar with how I twist around original myths, and the same will happen here. This is a project I am really excited about, as it allows me to explore more of Hades, and I am having so much fun writing it.

Status update
Since I know readers like updates on author's writing projects, here goes...
-I have something planned for the one-year anniversary of me being an author (Seeds 1 came out almost a year ago, I can't believe it!) It's not huge, but I think it'll be a nice treat.
-The paperback bind-up of Seeds is still forthcoming, though I do not know exactly when (likely this summer at the latest) I still need to format it properly and have a cover for it. This bind-up of the entire trilogy will be put in the usual size of book used for bind-ups of trilogies and series.
-Interludes In Myth is still in progress, with four stories completed, and other stories in various stages of progress. Hades and Persephone will make a guest appearance in here.
-Hivemother, my science-fiction novel, is still in development. I've started the prologue, and have many details worked out.
-Other stories and projects, like my family gothic saga, as well as two other novels, and a possible second volume of Interludes in Myth, are in development.
I always welcome friends and fans, you can find (and friend) me on Facebook, or become my friend here on Goodreads. You can also e-mail me at ememkin at gmail dot com.

An Open Letter to my Readers
I have received a wide variety of feedback on my trilogy. Most of it was positive, a few were negative, and some offered valuable bits of constructive criticism (including one complaint several people made) which I have applied to while editing Seeds this last month. I’ve also noted a few observations, and now that Seeds has been out for a while, I’d like to address these observations and criticisms.
A few readers took issue with some of the dialogue in Seeds, saying it was too contemporary. I honestly never intended this. It was obvious to me to not use modern-day slang so I wasn’t going to have the gods call each other ‘bro’ or anything like that, but other words were a bit of a gray area. When I used the word ‘okay’, I was trying to use it as a way to signify a more casual form of speech, since some people may speak differently in a more formal situation, such as at work, and use a few different words at home when around family and friends. Of course this varies from person to person, and I was trying to convey a certain mood when I used the word ‘okay’ or a couple of other more casual/slang words such as ‘sure’. Ultimately, I decided to delete the several ‘okay’ in Seeds and replace them with more appropriate words, and ended up replacing a few other words throughout the trilogy as well.
I wanted to make Seeds a rich story, instead of merely focusing on the romance. I’ve read other novels about Hades and Persephone that focused on the romance and left out or minimalized other aspects of the tale. I’m not saying that this in itself is bad – some people like romance books, and there is nothing wrong with a Harlequin-esque story (I enjoy them myself sometimes!)
I could have cut out certain parts of the trilogy, like Demeter’s time in Eleusis, or the backstory that was set up in Book 1. This might even have made Seeds easier for me to write, if I had chosen to neglect these parts. However, I didn’t want to. The writer in me rebelled against that, and I am the kind of person who likes the whole story. Not each book needs to be written like this, mind you, and I am just fine with short stories, but for Seeds, I had to do what felt right to me, and Seeds would have felt incomplete without these parts that I mentioned, among others.
What about the erotic scenes? I will admit that this was partly in response to 50 Shades of Gray. I will be honest – I did not like that book and found it the opposite of sexy, and the characters to be totally unappealing. I always intended for Seeds to be a mature book, not a YA book, and I did my best to make the steamy scenes varied and fun to read.
I put each scene into Seeds for a reason – romance, action, drama, erotic, and so on. I thought long and hard about each scene and edited Seeds about five times, several scenes were deleted and others added since the first draft of this tale. Not everyone is going to like my books or the way I write them, and I accept that, and I will not change my voice. I wanted to make Seeds different from all the other novelizations and retellings of the Hades and Persephone myth, and I am rather pleased with the result.

Daughters of Zeus series/The Iron Queen
This is a very creative retelling of the Hades and Persephone tale, and is now one of my favorite versions out of the various retellings I've read.
While the Daughters of Zeus series is set in modern day, you can tell that the author Kaitlin Bevis put a lot of thought into this and respected her source material. I can recommend this series as a Christmas present for those who enjoy this myth.

Daughter of the Earth and Sky
Having read the first book in this series, I was very impressed, and was eager for the second installment. I can honestly say that the series so far is worth reading, and I was thoroughly impressed with the second installment in the trilogy.
