Review: An Innocent Wife

An Innocent Wife An Innocent Wife by Richa Resa
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An Emotional Roller-coaster

There are a few things I want to say before I go further into this review. Everyone has a different point of view in their life and their experiences/society might have influenced it. To everyone who calls this story a TRASH, things like this exist in the real world.
So wake up. If it isn't your cup of tea, then its fine.

P.S.: I personally know of two couple, who has gone through similar situation. They are still together after thirty years.

However, I would like to kindly request the future readers/reviewers to refrain from trashing the work and leaving harsh comments. Some of the reviews hit my nerve, considering I am a writer myself. Please do us a favor by listing the things you disliked and maybe leave a constructive criticism that doesn't hurt.

This story is about the love/married life of a couple, Eunice and Joshua. Joshua loses his daughter in an accident that involves his Eunice, but his weak twisted mind turns all the grief into hatred for his wife. His reason—Eunice drove the car with his daughter (a result of one-night-stand) even when he said not to bring his daughter.

In an attempt to break her, he does everything including cheating on her with her own friend. The rest of the story is for you to read.

Eunice: Innocent, loving and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She loves her husband even after everything he puts her through. Her character could be considered in a different perspective of the reader, but to me she simply portrays the few woman I've met in my daily life. Sometimes I wanted to smack her and tell her to move on, but the heart want what it wants. I'll never understand this thing. How many of you had wondered why Selena Gomez keeps taking Justin Bieber back though he cheats on her everytime? Just a random thought, really. But after reading this book I think I have an idea why.

Joshua: Spineless swine. Yeah, that's him. He believes what he thinks is right. Always put a child before his wife. Thinks with his d*** and acts with his balls. On the positive side, the instant hatred towards this character couldn't be avoided and cheers, author.

Eunice's friends: Very supportive and voice of reasoning. They try their best to help their friend in every situation and stick together.

Though there are several books with the similar concepts, I liked the emotions and the plot flow. Repetitive dialogues at some places could've been avoided. I am not pleased with the way it ended and I wish the author stuck to her original ending. That is Joshua committing suicide. Don't be afraid to take risks in your future stories. Not all readers think the same and not all would like a happy ending. Some pain and heartbreak wouldn't hurt.

Looking forward to read her other stories.

Review: Lucan, Part 1

Lucan, Part 1 Lucan, Part 1 by Christine Duts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

LOVED IT!

I am glad I read this.

This is the first book I read from this author and I am hooked to her style. Lucan, a Roman vampire narrates his story. We are taken into a journey through time and history as he reminisces his memory. The readers get a wide glimpse of ancient Rome, their rulers, customs, lifestyle and so on.

The plot flows smoothly without a hitch. Every character has a remarkable role to play even though they appear only in a few scenes. They mature with every chapter and I loved the way the supernatural world was introduced. The vampires, banshees, werewolves—they all are at their finest forms. They aren’t cuddly and create the fear in our minds.

First, I loved the realistic approach. It didn’t feel like I was reading a fiction. Secondly, I appreciate the female characters. They are intelligent and bold. The lives of slaves in ancient period mentioned in detail, make us feel what hardships they went through and couldn’t help but feel bad for them. The author didn’t miss to make her point through Lucan, the slaves were humans too. They should be treated as such.

Lucan – After reading his story, I can only think of him as—a beloved son, a loyal brother, a lovely husband, a protective father. We see his character evolve from a newborn to a mature vampire. His childhood, his first love, his marriage, his children. The reason he becomes a fugitive all of a sudden.

Althea – She is an independent female with a strong will. Her character evolves with Lucan. We see her as a wife, a dedicated mother and as a furious vampire, who thirst for vengeance.
The story follows Lucan. It says how his perfect life has changed over the years and the plot has lots of emotions and drama to keep you hooked. The writing style and the beautiful descriptions stole my heart.

I loved this story and highly recommend this.

Review: His Alpha: Curving Straight Lines

His Alpha: Curving Straight Lines His Alpha: Curving Straight Lines by Rachelle Mills
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it!

I am one of the privileged reader, who got to read this book on Wattpad. I love the works of Rachelle Mills and I am so happy that I could finally have her works on my shelf.

Tommie is the beta to Alpha Tate. When they come of age, they realize that the fate had intertwined their lives in the most impossible way. They struggle to come into terms of their sexuality. Being together and accepting their fate isn't easy. An Alpha is expected to choose a Luna who could bear children, a heir to his pack.

Tommie tries to go away for his studies, but when he returns after 4 years, the emotions he carefully tried to bury so deep is once again awoken. Through in a pack drama, you are in for the ride that's worth your time.

This is the first gay romance I read. As usual the author sends her readers on an emotional roller-coaster right from the beginning. Those who don't know about this author, she writes about pain and how to deal with it.

Her characters doesn't have it easy, they fight for it. She shows their weak, vulnerable moments. The characters of her stories always earn their respect, not just in the world they are portrayed, but also in the minds of their readers.

I love how her characters mature from the struggle they go through. Her works have motivated upcoming writers like me personally and professionally.

I highly recommend Rachelle's works. If you haven't read her stories before, you are missing it.

So what are you waiting for :D

Stolen Birthright_Book Review

Stolen Birthright_Book ReviewLink: https://www.inkitt.com/stories/fantasy/198522?ink_source=application.default&ink_block=reviews&ink_page_number=&ink_metric=

Non-cliche Revenge Story!

This story is intended for mature readers and has a deep story plot.Ella and her parents are ambushed during their visit to their neighbouring pack. She is sexually harassed and her parents are killer thereby making her an alpha. Now in the dangerous world surrounded by power hungry packs, she must find a way to protect herself and the little members of the pack that won't abandon her. The fire for revenge burn within her and with no wolf and a strong pack she must find a way to avenge her parents death and all the wrong that was done to her. This story is really written well. The author has taken a sensitive plot and treaded carefully. Ella is a strong female lead and the story revolves around her. She is clever, her intelligence compensate for the lack of her wolf and the methods she use is awesome. This is not a cliché and the story will keep you hooked. This story might feel intense for some readers due to its emotions, which is so good by the way.The approach on werewolf community in this story is very unique and the author has concentrated even on the finest details, leaving nothing out. You will meet a lot of females with strong will and definitely the alphas are not jerks. Well, except for a few and Ella has something for them.My personal favourite is where she deliver four wolves who attacked her home to the enemy alpha, dressed up as dogs well more like they trim their hair to look like a poodle and more...no more spoilers, but this is freaking hilarious and a huge blow to their werewolf ego. There are more incidents like this in the book which will have you ROFL.The story takes a surprising turn after a good first half and after that it is like you are in the midst of Hollywood action movies like Resident Evil or 28 days. The action scenes are done so well. The author's experience is evident in his writing and very informative for young authors.
