Change of Plans

I know I announced that I was planning on a Feb 14th release.

Since that time I've run into a few things to slow me down, I've started college again and am getting over a severe cold. I don't have a certain date, but I am pretty sure I'll be releasing the cover for Sufficient Grace on Feb. 14th.

Thoughts and Reflections, and Resolutions?
The year, is coming to a close. I've aged one year older, and grown, just that much wiser, I hope.
It's been a year of discovery and challege, knocking and seeking.
Snow is falling softly outside my window, the Korean music on my computer, reminds me of one of the places I've left my heart.
The more I grow up, the more I realize that life is a constant exploration of things, that there never is an arrival date, you never really truely "grow up"it's just a constant, getting up. Getting up from falls, and scrapping up broken dreams, shattered hopes, it also means getting past your personal fears, facing the future with open hands and open heart, even if a knife is placed in your heart, it means looking past all of that, and getting up when you are down. There have been people in this past year, who have hurt me more than I thought people would, and people who brought more joy to my life than I could ever imagine.
I fell in love with 500 children this past year, and I hope the years ahead I fall in love with even more, their precious faces, as you show them love and teach them, are the most priceless thing on earth. Nothing is compared to it. These children, even though I might not rememember all of their names, I remember their faces, and the impressions they left on my heart. They will always be there, even when I grow old and grey with age, they will be there in my heart.
Speaking of constant getting up, I am hoping to turn a few new pages in this coming year. A new book release with Sufficient Grace, and maybe even some short stories, we'll see what God has in store. I am also at trying to enroll in college once again and nail down a B.A. I've loved my "non-college" life, however as I get older I realize how much those two letters, mean to this world, and the things I want to do with my life from here out ask for those two little letters. B.A. I also hope to start REALLY learning a foriegn language this year. I've tried teaching myself Spanish, and I picked up a little Chinese while I was in Taiwan, but I've set my sights on a new dream. Korea. It'll be a few years but it's a dream worth shooting for, and dream worth holding onto. It's the one I am holding out for.
But, what you are hopes, dreams, resolutions for 2016? I'd love to hear them.

Emotions
Dearest Readers,
Well, it's November 1st, and I should be writing a novel, but I am not...I said I would and I will, but tonight, things are just feeling lost, and imperfect. I watch glorious beings glisten and glow in the words they are typing and I am starting to wonder if...I can write anymore. It's true.
I love words.
I love writing.
I am probably just going through writers blues and in a day or two I'll be enthralled with my book and it will all be going swimmingly. I hope.
The one thing, I know is that I wouldn't be happy without writing it, for it's a novel that I at least need to write for myself, and hopefully for you to read it someday, part of me is scared, I've never written a series before. This is all new ground for me and for someone who never wanted to write strictly tacked down series before.
I am wresting with a new writing program, that makes me uncomfortable, all of the familiar things are gone and the tools I want are no where to be found, and it's disconcerting and driving me out of my "element," not that new things aren't good, and learning curves should be tried but, it's not something I want to be doing through NaNoWriMo, and as I am getting ready to publish a new book in the next 6 months.
It is funny, it's the little things in life that build up and bug a human, it's those things that we take for granted and shouldn't bug us that get under our skin. We want things to be just a certain way and they aren't and we have to accept and face them, we have to find ways to conquer them and our discomfort.
But I am here to conquer NaNoWriMo...not to compare my word count to my friends who have amazing word counts, and are already blowing NaNoWriMo like battleship wars...I am just on the backwater drifting down stream and trying to figure out how this new set of oars work, I'll get to the ocean eventually.

Confessions & Facts: Annabeth's War
Reading reveiws as an author, I always find super interesting, sometimes I laugh, sometimes I sigh, somtimes I get giddy with joy over someones's delight in my book.
But the authors often hold facts that the readers never get to know, so to disolve some of mystery I'll give you some little insights into Annabeth's War.
The original title was By The Sword, and there was a little line that went like this before the title page.
A girl fleeing with price on her head, fighting for her father’s life.A swordsman who has given up his faithA man whose life was changed on the battle fieldA King away at war.And a master of dark deeds.
Collide.
Battles ensue.All must live – or die...

It took me nearly 3 weeks to write Annabeth's War.
When I originally envisioned Ransom, he actaully worked for Lord Raburn, and had change of heart and eneded up saving Annabeth....it's a really long story. There was much character and author debate.
It wasn't until I started writing that Prince Alf popped up, and Lady Christina kind of just walked in on all of us, and her name was originally Samantha.
Eliot wasn't part of the plan, then he showed up, he might actually be in the Histories of Chambria (which name you'll know from Captive of Raven Castle)
Song Lark told me nothing about himself. I've asked him a million times and he seems to have a million stories that he wouldn't tell, however I might have an idea about him. He got a little talkative after Annabeth's War was published. If he could pick someone to play him it would be Alexander Rybak.
Annabeth became her name because I couldn't choose between Ann and Elizabeth, and as I was musing one day it occured to me to smash them together and...thus Annabeth.

Please allow me to introduce you to Christi Ella Ryder. I met this girl...oh, a few years ago at Colonial Williamsburg, our families had seen eachother around Williamsburg at various events and at the end of the day ended up "meeting" which led to hours of talking--an email exchange, a few scattered phone calls and...a life long friendship. I've flown to her house, her family has driven up to mine, it's all great!
However not only do you get to meet my awesome friend...she is announcing that she is entering the writing world after me pestering her for years that you should. I am bouncing up and down with excitment that Christi is finally pursuing publishing one of her novels!
So without futher ado please give a round of applause for Miss Christi!!!!
First, please tell us a little about yourself.
I always hate this part! Well, I am a highshool homeschool graduate, and oldest daughter of many siblings. I'm an introvert who enjoys thinking, crafting, reading, writing, animals, and photography!
How long have you been writing?
I started writing about twelve years ago, but I only got serious about it after meeting the Amazing Miss Jessica and reading some of her epic stories. :)
What inspired you to start?
I have always loved reading, and creating such stories has intrigued me from a young age. Over the years I've met a lot of really amazing unpublished and published authors who have helped encourage me to develop a style of my own and improve my story telling skills.
What is your favorite genre to read and write?
My favorite genre to read is definitely historical fictional romance, but I prefer writing modern romance. One day I may tackle a historical romance of my own.
Do you listen to music while you write?
Depends. If all is quiet, I prefer to write in the silence. But if the family is around, then I use music to drown out the distractions.
Your greatest influences as a writer?
I think life in general, and also the inability to find books in the genres I liked that were appropriate for me as a tween (and beyond).
Favorite Authors? Lois Walfrid Johnson, E.D.E.N. Southworth, Karen Witemeyer, Rachel Rossano, Jessica Greyson, and Eizabeth Ender.

Hobbies outside of writing?
Haha, you name it and I've probably given it a try and one time or the other. Among my favorites are drawing, singing, photography, reading, family, games, anything that makes me smarter (fun facts, trivia games, informational videos/books, intellectual discussions, etc).
