The Girl and Her Racehorse: A Fable

A girl had three race horses. She loved each of them.

One day she called all of her family and friends to come see her horses race around a track. There was only one problem: she was the only one that could ride the horses.

The time for the race began and the girl had to pick only one horse to ride. She jumped on and the race began. The first horse was fast and she made it about a third of the way around the track when she stopped, looked back, and saw her other horses. She tied up t...

The King of Glory: A Psalm 24 Story for Kids

The king returned from war riding on horseback with his army riding behind him. He was returning to the castle after a long time at war.

He loved his people. He fought for them. He protected them. His soldiers praised him for his glory, but it was a glory he wished to share with them and all the people of the kingdom.

He sent messengers ahead to warn the castle of his arrival. He mourned the loss of those that fought by his side but died in his service. He did not want a celebration ...

The Crying Baby in the Crib: A Psalm 34 Story for Kids

Psalm 34 Story

A baby was crying in its crib. It cried but no one answered.

Finally, the baby’s mother came rushing in through the door.

“Are you okay? I’m so sorry I didn’t hear you at first, but I’m here now,” she said as she picked up the child.

The baby’s tears slowed to a whimper. He looked up to his mother. A smile came over his face. The tears were still there but he was filled with joy at the sight of her face.

The child never feared taking a nap. He always knew his parents would be...

The Worm in a Cage: A Psalm 22 Story for Kids

Psalm 22 Story

A young boy kept a pet worm in an ant farm cage in his bedroom. An ant farm is filled with dirt with glass on both sides so you can see the ants. The boy decided he wanted to turn it into a worm farm instead.

There was only one worm in the cage. The boy liked to watch it move through the dirt and the worm was happy to have the boy’s attention. The worm liked the dirt very much, but it liked the boy’s attention more.

The boy had sisters. They didn’t like the worm. They called it gross...

The Victorious Quarterback: A Psalm 21 Story for Kids

Psalm 21 Story

The crowd was still roaring from the victory. Players and fans were all over the field. A young reporter nudged her way through to the winning quarterback for a post-game interview.

She finally found him and pulled him aside. She waited for the signal from the cameraman to begin.

“Congratulations,” she said to the player. “How does it feel to be a world champion?”

“I feel so incredibly blessed. Look at the joy on these people’s faces. What a gift from God,” he said.

The repor...

The Mother and the Waiting Room: A Psalm 20 Story for Kids

A mother sat in the waiting room of the hospital. Her husband stepped out to get her something to eat.

She was very anxious. She didn’t like the waiting. She felt helpless and, if she was being honest, hopeless.
Her son went into surgery that morning. There had been no word from the doctors yet.

She looked around at some other anxious parents. Some were quiet and others coped with their worries by pacing or talking loudly on the phone.

This mother was one of the quiet ones. She didn’...
